That all depends on what type of modeling you are interested in.

Look around here for a thread "In praise of older models" and you'll see there's lots of interest in older models.

I didn't start modeling until I was 29.  Now, I'm absolutely NOT a professional, and most likely will never be.  But, I've not done too bad, even as an amateur!  Apply yourself, have a great attitude and work ethic, and above all, have fun!  Good luck to you!  smile

Photos like your avatar .... are what I love .... Photos that look like they sell something ..... high fashion is it????   I find nothing wrong with Maxim style photography .... it's just not what excites me.  Ironically for me I guess ..... I HAVE more of a Maxim style body ... and have yet to see if I fit in to the type photos I like.   (I'm doing a shoot in August to test this all out)  :-)

How important is age in shots like these?

theres is no age limit in modeling

just dependings on the market and what people are looking for at that time.

have you ever thought:

where the people in the medication ads for
old age type people are ? such as ensure or anti-arthritis

commercials / movies / print ads ....there is such a broad market for all types of modeling

  however...

you are definately to old to portray a 10 year old

You are definitely too old to be the next Gerber baby, so I guess you might as well just give up modeling entirely. wink

You're too short for fashion anyways.  I mean if you're looking to really make a career out of it you're too short and too old for fashion.

Yes, I've always concerened myself with my height...in which I have no control over.  However; (and I've seen the proof) ...I happen to believe that a really good photographer can make it work. (if you're a good subject and a versatile one)

She's too short, leave it at that.
24 isn't exactly too old for fashion in general, its too old for runway.

For fun.... I know it's not a career for me. It's just an ego booster. lol  No really...it's more than that. I LOVE photos that look like you just cut them out of a magazine. (a good magazine)  :-))  I'll probably be returning to college to work on my law degree or in political science ....  in which case all my photos will come back to haunt me!!

This photo of yours?

I'm 5'11, can you see me asking if there's any chance for me in petite modeling?

Why can't shorter models just accept that they weren't made for fashion and leave it at that? There's tons of other directions you can go in, so stop sulking about the ones that you can't.

Ohhhh, okay.

Well then it may just add up to how much you're willing to spend to get pictures that are merely just to show off for fun? Unless you're willing to charm your way into getting a "top notch" to do TFP wink

And I'm a little too head-strong to accept ANYthing until I KNOW otherwise. I come from a long line of people who believe it's a very weak attitude to expect anyone to give up on something they want to do even before they have tried. (and I don't care if you're a shorter model, a girl trying out for an all-boys football team, or George W. Bush attempting an entire speech without a mistake)

:-) Already have a pro going to do it for free  ;-) And I did NOTHING to charm him  (in case anyone's wondering)

Lol, hell, I'm just psyched that I was chosen to be in a contest for my city. 1 out of 44 girls who will be chosen this year for this contest. Granted, it's no NY, but it's no po-dunk town either   lol

No. Any model can look tall when shot from a particular angel. What I'm asking you if paying a photographer for shots like that when you're not even interested in pursuing that field of modeling in a serious manner is even worth it?

Granted, in this thread we are talking mostly about Models 35 and up.. but you are attractive and from what I see in your portfolio here on MM.. you have a good start.

Dont let anyone tell you that you cant do what you desire to do.

Yes, NY Fashion runway modeling is probably not going to happen (according to what everyone here says). And you may not be the next top Model on Tyra's show (from what I have heard about their models), but you have plenty of things you can do and should try if you are interested.

That 44 year old who told you not to... tell her to check out our thread.. heck.. she may be actually jealous of your looks..

Do you think it offends a photographer on here if you deny their friend request?  Or should you just accept it anyway? Even if you don't personally like their work???  Any thoughts??

Actually my sister is only 5'2 and she has got a couple of offers from really great photographers and when I say great I mean Great. Is either because they just absolutely love her look and the expressions on her face and the versatility.Believe me is not like she is trying to get sign onto an agency but sometimes photographers see a certain look that they feel might suit their book and the model doesn't nessesarly has to be 5'10. They are not the agency they are NOT  trying to get the model fashion work they are trying to build their portfolio for their own benefit.
