nude male models (and the females with them)
anything ever "perk up" in a session? how do you deal with it? models with them, how do you deal with it? Jul 05 07 07:03 pm Link J Christopher Little wrote: Never been in that situation. Jul 05 07 08:06 pm Link Think about Janet Reno, works every time Jul 05 07 10:20 pm Link Nope. Just did one with oil and erotic undertones, still nothing "perked." I'm usually way the heck too busy thinking about lights and posing and not falling on my face while twisting my body to think, "Ooh sex!" Jul 06 07 09:57 am Link on a shoot, I'm all business... so sex never even comes into consideration Jul 06 07 10:00 am Link I've only posed nude with my wife (professionally, I'm not talking about a camera phone in our bedroom.) I've done this twice. The first time I was obviously nervous, although I didn't feel it - or was it just a cold studio!? The second time I was more relaxed, though again I didn't feel any more relaxed, and about half way through I began gently kissing my wife's shoulder and her body was brushing up against mine and I did begin to 'grow', NOT gain an erection, just started to 'look a little bigger'. "Take a picture now!" I wanted to say proudly, but didn't. Anyway, to avoid any embarrassment, my wife gave me that special secret harsh look that wives reserve for their husbands when they're potentially embarrassing them and 'told me off in a stern breath under her voice' - and that stopped me gaining any further Heaven bound motion. I really couldn't imagine being aroused with another female model, as often the poses require so much concentration and stamina. Jul 06 07 02:44 pm Link Have u ever heard of male porn stars being unable to perform? All the chaos, people, cameras, lighting, working makes the poor guy have stage freight . . . I'm sure it would work the same way with a regular photo shoot - he's probably too nervous to rise to the occasion!!! Jul 06 07 02:47 pm Link I agree with some previous posters. Too many things are going through my head to worry about that. Posing, lighting, etc. Came close one time while posing for an art class. And i did the old school trick of thinking baseball. That surprisingly does work! Jul 06 07 02:49 pm Link Wood Happens. Depending on the shoot, the photog should either guide the models to hide it, or compose the shots to incorporate it into the overall image. It's no big deal, unless you make it a big deal...... Jul 06 07 03:35 pm Link Doug Swinskey wrote: word. Jul 06 07 05:05 pm Link I would think that you wouldnt be able to also when being in front of more than that person that you are posing with. I mean unless you are an exibitionist lol. Jul 06 07 05:09 pm Link you know sometimes men just get erect for no reason at all. Professionals recognize that sometimes these things happen. If it's not planned for the shoot, professionals generally don't make a big deal out of it. Usually that's a good time for a quick break to save anyone any embarrassment, when the male model is ready he'll let the photographer know and everyone continues without losing their minds. He seemed very willing to go with it, the photographer didn't say anything, but I wasn't comfortable appearing in a fine art photo with a model who had an erection, so I asked for a break. I was a little annoyed that I was the one who had to call the break, actually. I felt like it was the photographer's job to manage the shoot. I'm comfortable speaking up in this kind of situation now, but I'm not sure I would have been as a younger model. Jul 06 07 08:40 pm Link I'm still saying, if you are a male model and you know you'll be shooting with a female in a situation where an unwanted erection might arise, why wouldn't you just take care of it before hand (ie, masturbate)? And you don't have to be "thinking of sex" for it to happen, so those who try to act uber macho and clever, and pretend they're "too professional" for it to come into consideration, bull honkey! haha Jul 08 07 12:26 pm Link BARTON FUNK wrote: I really couldn't imagine being aroused with another female model, as often the poses require so much concentration and stamina. bilbrown wrote: I don't get the humour? Jul 09 07 01:01 am Link I have had sex scenes on stage with nothing "perking", photoshoots are the same (It is all professional), but if I think of a hot babe then this happens Jul 09 07 01:09 am Link why's he so angry? (stop shooting unless you are going for that tone, which i've never been requested to do) and bam.. it's done.. this wasn't a professional model though.. it was a friend who was helping me with my ''striped project'' (see sample in my profile.. u'll be able to tell by 'striped'' as as a clue) Jul 09 07 01:26 am Link Ashland T wrote: yeah i mean.. it's hanging out.. and you are moving a lot.. it happens.. The only "problem" I ever had concerning an unwanted erection was years ago when a model brought her boyfriend along to shoot...no erections with just him and her but when I added the second female he definitely reacted..and so did his girlfriend. LOL! Jul 09 07 01:33 am Link Prrrrrring!!! Jul 09 07 01:39 am Link I've shot many male nude photos. This is something that I think a lot of male models worry about if they've never done a nude shoot before. I've had a few models ask me if it is ever a problem in the studio, and what, if anything to do about it. First, getting an erection in the studio is extremely rare. I've never had a model get completely erect during an art shoot, ever. A few have gotten slightly plump. I think new models worry about it, but really, it hardly ever happens. As a photographer, I find that if I provide a safe and comfortable environment, and act completely professionally, then the model has no reason to be aroused. Being naked does not mean you have to get aroused. You have to be thinking of something sexual to get you aroused. If you are concentrating on the task of modeling, posing, expression, lighting, etc., then most guys will not get aroused. Many first time nude models are naturally a bit nervous. Sometimes getting partly erect might be a byproduct of nervous tension (although it usually has the opposite effect). If a model seems at all nervous, I'll let him know that if he starts to get hard, I'll stop the shoot and we'll take a break until things calm down. No big deal. Usually after a while, being naked in the studio looses its novelty and titillation, and models can calm down and relax. All this is in regards to solo nudes. I would guess it is more of a problem shooting couples (of whatever persuasion). I've only shot a few couples, and so far erections have not been a problem. Jul 09 07 03:27 pm Link Zarif Kabier Sadiqi wrote: LOL..Does that really happen? Jul 09 07 03:39 pm Link This discussion reminds me of when I photographed a nude male on the roof of my building. He was fully erect from the time his pants came off to the time they went back on. My philosophy is to take what the models give me, so I went along with it and got some interesting shots. Later the model asked me to remove all his pictures from my website because his mother found out about them through a spiteful ex. May 28 08 11:10 am Link I've worked with two different nude male models on four different occasions. Sometimes in VERY close proximity. In some poses, we were so close genitals were on my leg, and my breasts practically in the models mouth. Nothing ever happened with either of them. One poses nude frequently; the other had not ever posed nude, to my knowledge. EDIT: This is from July? I thought this looked familiar. God damnit. May 28 08 11:15 am Link The model was 29, and yes, I removed the pictures at his request. I am older and wiser now and realize that some people are more exhibitionist than model, but it's all good. Needless to say, it was just a big distraction and I didn't get any of the shots I wanted. It was a short shoot. I know when it's a lost cause. May 28 08 11:51 am Link |
