Let's all resolve not to make photographic cliches this year.  Okay, but what cliches?  What kind of images are you tired of seeing?

My preliminary list includes:

>>>  People wearing costume angel wings.

>>>  "Moody" single light source shadowy images, where the off side is lost against the black background.

What else?

OK, I will say no to clients and turn down money if you will.

For some reason angel wings and moody shots are really popular right now.  But I agree, along with the roses from American Beauty, they are getting old.

Selective desaturation images.  Been there; done that.  (And most make the wrong choices about what to desaturate).

With respect, not quite the response I was looking for.  I'll restate:  what kind of images are you tired of seeing?

We've all shot the cliche shots... others will continue to shoot them.
I think it's a shooter's perog to shoot what ever they want to shoot (no matter how cliche, tacky or silly others may think) and it's arrogant for a few artist to try and dictate what other artists can or shoud produce.
Art is subjective
My two cents.

By the way... i get annoyed with the "American Beauty" shot (with the flower petals) but, I say, shoot it if you feel it; you may do it better than any one else has.

People. People in photographs are cliche. So are animals, and landscape photography has been done, too. Come to think of it... nothing left to say.

title of my next photoset: Cliche.

I'm going to cover my boobs with my hair and hands, sit in rose petals in a bathtub wearing wings.  Who wants to shoot it?

Hey can I get in on the bath tub thing too.  I'm sure we can make room.  I'll take pics of anything that looks good.  It will help out my port.

While you pencil the brows, we'll figure out how to get the tub and the train tracks next to a brick wall with graffitti on it.
