Elise Hoffman wrote: Would love to hear your thoughts on my own portfolio and profile Hmm I can't comment on your MM profile. usually, it is the last thing I read if I am interested in working with the model AFTER looking at portfolio pictures. Your port is nice but really nothing earth shattering there. Would this port get you hired? perhaps. It really depends what a client needs. And there are so many available models out there models and photographers are just another commodity. For sure, you could get a lot of trade "work" to rebuild your portfolio but with 5'2" it will be harder to qualify and differentiate yourself for runaway and high fashion jobs. Can you get paid by some photographer's hobbyist project? sure. But that's not a career. Since the profile indicates that you do nudes, such flexibility might help. I am not sure if your leg is post op scarred in this https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34524211 if it is, you should add that in the profile. most employers wouldn't bother to hire someone with imperfections to be removed in the post work at additional cost unless such imperfection can be useful for a concept. (truly rare!!!) My favorite look in your port work with better photographers and change the "very experienced" to "some experience" which equally doesn't mean squat to get jobs. as soon as you get better photos delete those https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34917243 light candle in foreground is distracting https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34668591 bad light glare smack in the middle of your forehead and shadow on eye, = unflattering. work on your poses, don't stand there staring the camera like a prop, don't become an object and disappear in the photo. BE THE subject of your photos. Most freelancers and stock shooters look for mood, expressions, a lot of quirky personality and character. Lean how to synthesize those. Focus on a genre, build your own wardrobe, increase your "desirability to work with" rating because 75 % of hobbyist people that would be eventually interested in working with you have no budget whatsoever to dress you up for a shoot genre. You'll do fine in commercial, glamor, alternative and art nudes. Good luck to you

varton wrote: Your port is geared towards more erotic style and in general you get great model connection, you did some fun cool concepts and with good lighting in studio work but I must say that from what I see here you are still experimenting with light. You are trying to be a good story teller, but I am not convinced a lot of thought process goes into your compositions and the worst that can happen in photography is to give the impression of shooting for the sake of shooting. In some photos, model posing lives to be desired or they don't look their best. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32887074 https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34255337 Thanks for the assessment; definitely still experimenting with light. I do like stories; I'll keep in mind to stay more thoughtful and focused. And, while I do think I make good connections with my models, many are new so that means I need to do extra work to pose them well. I get lazy about this too often.

Madeline Lunzer wrote: I would love a critique Very beautiful look You say you are very much interested in shooting Art and fashion. your port is mostly portraits, you might want to add more photos and delete redundant headshots. Find some photographers and keep shooting. work on elaborate poses. Attract photographers by listing some shoot themes, because most reached a point where they keep reinventing the wheel, they might find your ideas original and be interested in collaborating. keep it up, no reason why you couldn't make it.

David E Simmons wrote: I've clean my port, and added some new photos like you mentioned. Do you mind if you can give me your intake on my port now please? OK David, yep you did but what you have added are still nothing original. You have too many portraits with the same look and pose. If you had 4 photos instead of 10 your port still give the same flat look. My recommendation is to add some urban looks, action looks (like sports) and suit and tie, dressed up style, maybe a couples shots. Ask yourself why they would work with you rather then among thousands of other models out there. Modeling is a lot more involved then the ability of someone posting 10 photos on a modeling site. if you can't answer the question then take down your portfolio page and look into doing something else.

ESweet wrote: Thank you so much for doing this. I'd really appreciate feedback Well not that it is important but I doubt you are a D cup, I would say a C at best if not a B anyway, I looked at your work both in your port and in credited photo list, nothing really jumps out and grab my attention and certainly does not reflect a major experience. In addition the "I only do paid shoots or I exchange modelling for travel. I feel I have the experience for paid shoots. Thanks " statement sounds cocky and what you feel versus what others feel is entirely a topic of its own. Therefore your mileage will vary. Your best photo overall All others especially the nudes and glamor shots fall short of showing your best. I'd like to advise you to find top shelf photographer willing to work with you but I can't, since I doubt they will pay you and give you photos that you can benefit from at the same time.

glamourit wrote: innocently trolling for compliments Hmm looks like you are very much used to compliments. Your work gives good professional feel. This is a second time I am reviewing. But on some takes in your port you almost fall in "generic robotic" category rendering flat/impersonal vibes. But hey if that's what they ask that's what you will give. My fav is the one on top Would list if the photo had it's independent slot. Congrats. Great job, keep doing!

Rockin Ray Thompson wrote: If you'd like to critique me, go forth. Most of my photos are from impromptu sessions at fashion events, but still its my work! What you say sounds as if something was wrong with taking photos in impromptu sessions at fashion events It is not, however your port doesn't give me such impression. It looks more like drive by shooting of attendees of such events wearing fancy, high quality and fashionable garments. (which is fine) Your port would probably sit better with photojournalism. Watch your framing and cropping. very bad crop/framing here -> https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34773865 On a zoom lens be VERY concerned about barrel and pincushion distortion. In this https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/34469435 your shoot angle and close proximity makes your subject shorter then actually is. Cutting of her feet doesn't improve the situation either. You need to give a serious scrub to this port. Good luck.
