    Of course there is always the option of posing nude as an art model in college classrooms (as I do), which does not always carry the same emotional stigma. You can gain the same emotional satisfaction in posing nude for commercial photography, but under much tighter control. Photos are sometimes taken in the classroom, but the model can decide whether or not to permit that.

    I agree, it’s a shame that society is the way it is… As a photographer, I witness the “criticism” often. It’s more understandable (to me) when it comes from parents or boyfriends – especially if the session is more than just nude, but also erotic in nature. But what I find the most surprising and disturbing, is when the criticism comes from other girls who are “friends” of the model! Often, the session doesn’t have to be one that’s all that nude either, it could be just a bare back with the side view of a bare breast, no nipple – and occasionally the models girl friends will think she’s “slutty.” A totally uncalled for accusation, but they make that jump just the same…
