Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them
know how much they liked their coffee and to request that they send some of it
to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products!

As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

I would have to see that letter in its original form to actually buy it considering what I have heard by some of the local starbucks managers and such.

I don't know, I received it in email and thought it was interesting.  Who knows if any of these are true.  I do know that a lot of corporate values are different from the store management values.

here here!  I never believe or care about those forwarded emails.  Now, if this was on CNN or something, that would be different.  I could make up anything about anyone I wanted and forward it

Actually I head something on CNN radio last week that Starbucks actually sent the coffee...but I couldn't swear to it under oath as I was busy working at the time.

Very suspious.  I don't think the folks at Starbucks would send or say anything
like that.  I'll call them and see at the corporate office.
I will say this though lets all check and double check things we write before
we ruin someone.  Although nothing could harm Starbucks.

I don`t think starbucks is stupid enough to write something like that. They might be ripping off the coffee growers by only paying them 3 cents per cup of coffee but they wouldn`t go that far.

And they make the best coffee mug I have ever had. the metal one with the rubber bottom and the clip on the handle to enable you to attach it to things such as a book bag strap or belt loop during mountain climbing. I have went through dozens of mugs in my lifetime and this is the only one I have had that has kept coffee HOT from the time I left for work in the morning, all through work until after I was home that night. Overpriced but when you need that coffee to be hot, it will be!lol

Okay, I did little reading and individual Starbucks employees can send whatever they want and have, but the Corporate Office does not view the US Military as a private charity in which to donate.  I will not be so quick to post next time, sorry about that.

I received a copy of that letter OVER a year ago(or it seems like it was that long ago).

Not a Problem for me to NOT buy Starbucks Over Priced coffee....

but this could be something like the United Way...the national United Way doesn't support the Boy Scout of America, due to their policies. yet many Local offices do! Most because if they stopped supporting the Boy Scouts, they would find their funding drying up very quickly.

Support our troops while they're over there, and hope for their safe return.

Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an email to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thou that needs to be cleared up. I heard from word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports the men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many of their Company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick wrong letter I sent out to you. Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

Well personally I buy from coffee bean and tea leaf because Starbucks is low quality...  But if this is true it sucks as much as the coffee beans they use!!!!

definitely do not mix coffee with extra shots with photo shoots. I have learned that caffienne makes me way too shaky to shoot handheld like I like, and it probably makes the model think I am nervous, or, worse yet, a "wankah". Which is another one of those words I MUST hear you say someday, lol

Ahahah "wankah" brilliant! Yes a lot of bodily function-related recordings for your answering machine! ;-)

America's made me into a coffee drinker, I love it. Does everything however have to be shaken, stirred and mixed with war? Cranberry is a much better mix.

Noooo the "mix" allusion (shaken and stirred) led to a "mix" for a drink. Duh tongue Hmm that should have been a new paragraph, haha yes it reads like cranberry coffee!
