Starbucks Lovers - You might be interested in this
Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffee and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they and I believe is right. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more. ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT!!! Jan 03 06 09:37 am Link I would have to see that letter in its original form to actually buy it considering what I have heard by some of the local starbucks managers and such. Jan 03 06 09:44 am Link I don't know, I received it in email and thought it was interesting. Who knows if any of these are true. I do know that a lot of corporate values are different from the store management values. Jan 03 06 09:48 am Link Yep, need a second source before I can believe it. Jan 03 06 09:48 am Link bencook2 wrote: here here! I never believe or care about those forwarded emails. Now, if this was on CNN or something, that would be different. I could make up anything about anyone I wanted and forward it Jan 03 06 09:50 am Link Actually I head something on CNN radio last week that Starbucks actually sent the coffee...but I couldn't swear to it under oath as I was busy working at the time. Jan 03 06 09:52 am Link Very suspious. I don't think the folks at Starbucks would send or say anything like that. I'll call them and see at the corporate office. I will say this though lets all check and double check things we write before we ruin someone. Although nothing could harm Starbucks. Jan 03 06 09:53 am Link Tony Lawrence wrote: here here! Jan 03 06 09:55 am Link I don`t think starbucks is stupid enough to write something like that. They might be ripping off the coffee growers by only paying them 3 cents per cup of coffee but they wouldn`t go that far. And they make the best coffee mug I have ever had. the metal one with the rubber bottom and the clip on the handle to enable you to attach it to things such as a book bag strap or belt loop during mountain climbing. I have went through dozens of mugs in my lifetime and this is the only one I have had that has kept coffee HOT from the time I left for work in the morning, all through work until after I was home that night. Overpriced but when you need that coffee to be hot, it will be!lol Jan 03 06 09:57 am Link How about a link to prove your claims Jan 03 06 09:57 am Link Tony Lawrence wrote: Haha please. Jan 03 06 09:58 am Link This is an old, known internet hoax. Jan 03 06 09:58 am Link Glamour Boulevard wrote: Yeah fair trade! Jan 03 06 09:59 am Link Okay, I did little reading and individual Starbucks employees can send whatever they want and have, but the Corporate Office does not view the US Military as a private charity in which to donate. I will not be so quick to post next time, sorry about that. Jan 03 06 09:59 am Link It's odd how no one ever seems to check these out, but it is so easy to do so. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/starbucks.asp Jan 03 06 10:00 am Link .....im already hooked on my grande mocha frappuccino.....theres no turning back now....lol Jan 03 06 10:02 am Link I received a copy of that letter OVER a year ago(or it seems like it was that long ago). Not a Problem for me to NOT buy Starbucks Over Priced coffee.... but this could be something like the United Way...the national United Way doesn't support the Boy Scout of America, due to their policies. yet many Local offices do! Most because if they stopped supporting the Boy Scouts, they would find their funding drying up very quickly. Support our troops while they're over there, and hope for their safe return. Jan 03 06 10:04 am Link I like Gloria Jeans coffee better anyway... But if this is true it sucks as much as the coffee beans they use!!!! Jan 03 06 12:47 pm Link Lillith Leda wrote: definitely do not mix coffee with extra shots with photo shoots. I have learned that caffienne makes me way too shaky to shoot handheld like I like, and it probably makes the model think I am nervous, or, worse yet, a "wankah".
