Where to print my nude photos?
I have several nude photos I would like to have printed. Is there a specific printer to do this. Or can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks Nov 24 09 03:10 pm Link most printers can do photos, but you'd have to go to store: staples, office depot, etc., and get glossy paper. A printer should have various settings to choose from. Nov 24 09 03:22 pm Link Blue Cube Imaging, a printer here on MM, does spectacular work and will gladly print your nude photos https://www.modelmayhem.com/10720 There's a link to his page. Nov 24 09 03:23 pm Link Costco will print nude art, but not porn. Nov 24 09 03:54 pm Link Dustin Sackett wrote: As I understand it, that's more or less completely at the discretion of who's working in the photo lab that day. Plus, while their results are better than walgreens or walmart, they are really more geared to snapshots. Nov 24 09 03:58 pm Link My advice is when you first go to the counter explain to the sales girl/guy that your file contains nude images and the images no not contain any sexual content. Tell them you are a photographer and its part of the arts. Believe it or not, about 10 years ago I went to Shopper's Drug Mart and dropped off a film of some nudes that I took of model. The shots were just body profile shots so that I would have an idea of what she looked like. Nothing sexual and the woman was 29. The retarded girl in Shoppers called the police. About two days later I get a phone call from the police explaining that the drug store had called them and that the investigation was dismissed because they simply were nude photos and: 1. the woman did not look underage 2. she didn't look like she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol 3. she did not look like she was being forced or coerced against her will. Lesson I learned is some blondes that work at Shopper's Drug Mart stores in the photo centre are retarded. I never went back. Lesson two, with nudes ....tell them what is in the file before they see it. Nov 24 09 04:07 pm Link Victoria Vertuga II wrote: I'll second that..... (art nudes). I had a company that has always done nude prints turn down the same content in book form. I understand that may be because they farm out the book to a third party. Nov 24 09 04:20 pm Link Don't bother with retail photo finishers. If it contain nudity or highly sensitive materials, go to a pro lab. Your stuffs are being handled by people who understand the nature of the business., not someone just moved from the deli department and start push the buttons in the photo department. And trust me, not to say quality is vast different. just the simple things like color and density, you will notice the difference between a pro lab and a photo finisher. Lastly, you never have to worry about your nude photo can be found in the trash can of a pro lab. Pro labs do shread all the photos before they go out to the garbage. Same cannot be said in Walmart. In fact, you might become the next Walmart centerfold before you even know it. Every dude in Walmart will have a picture of you. Nov 24 09 04:22 pm Link Digitoxin wrote: Another Blue Cube fan here. I have them print all my other images with great results. They have printed semi nude prints, but i have never tried sending nude ones. Jul 25 12 12:23 pm Link Jul 25 12 01:33 pm Link www.shutterfly.com They do prints, books, greeting cards, calendars, coffee mugs and what have you. I've never had a problem getting nudes printed there. One caveat: they will color balance your pictures based on their set of rules to produce what they consider attractive products. Somewhere in the ordering process (or book building process) is a box to check if you want them printed as-is. Jul 25 12 02:05 pm Link Cheap and Quick- I've had good results with Costco...but find one with the good machines and if your photographer knows how to compensate...have the photo prepared for that printer and make sure costco does not "auto correct". But if you want good? Blue Cube all the way. Reasonable prices, and while I haven't ordered direct from him yet myself, I was given a print or two from my photographer (through Blue Cube) and the results were brilliant. Jul 25 12 02:17 pm Link PS- Another reason to use BlueCube... he is here on MM and works as a photographer as well. You don't have to worry about him keeping copies for himself or to distribute to his buddies. I have heard that this is an issue at some photo labs. Jul 25 12 02:18 pm Link Couldn't you just go to the Do-It-Yourself print stations with printers. Plug in the flash drive and it prints right there. I remember printing that way pics of some wild nights and it worked great. They have them at walgreens, CVS, walmart, etc. Jul 16 14 11:37 am Link our costco won't even print lingerie much less nudes. we haven't had any problem running nudes through ACI, WHCC and the usual online culprits. The look on her face when she handed me the paper roll was priceless. I always print at Walgreens just because I like their prices. Jul 17 14 10:56 am Link +1 for Blue Cube Imaging. although, I do get a kick out of some of the notes I've received from labs who made me out for some type of pervert. I had some fliers printed of a nude model in the woods, very tasteful... for an art gallery show. Docucopies wrote me an URGENT email, We have reviewed your files, and unfortunately will not be able to print your job due the graphic nature of the content. It is our policy not to print any content that our employees may find offensive. Graphic? Offensive? It's a nude woman in the woods. It's not like she's humping a donkey or something. So, I just went to the next printer on Google Search and made a note never to use Docucopies again. Business must be really good for them to turn down a paid job. Jul 17 14 11:18 am Link I highly recommend Blue Cube Imaging! Jul 17 14 11:23 am Link Zombie thread from 2009 shambles on . . . . P.S. Blue Cube! - placed an order today with them.
