I saw an image in the voting of today's potd18+ women and was surprised that it was allowed. Loosely, it is a black and white woman tangled on a bed looking as if they are "dining out". I thought things like this weren't allowd on MM at all

The word you are searching for is cunnilingus.

So, you can actually see this in the image?
I don't.

Ok so faces buried in crotches are okay. The "rules" just get looser and looser. And people wonder why outsiders view this as a porn/dating site.

What can you actually see?

Can you actually see oral/genital contact? That would be 'explicit', and not permitted.

If you can not actually see something then it is 'implied'.

The rule states:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/help/rules/images

NOT Allowed on Model Mayhem
The following represent image types that are NEVER allowed to be posted on Model Mayhem:
- explicit sexual content

and the operable word is 'explicit'

I don't think so. If one wants porn, there are a gajillion sites with that in all possible flavors. Dates? There is Facebook, Match.com etc etc. (Escorts on Backpage and local sites throughut the world)

It is true, however that the rules - especially the "emphasis on genitals" proscription - are vague and inconsistently enforced. My strong personal view is that beyond the legally necessary (no minors) and rules that can be stated in understandable bright-line fashion (no penetration, no dining without a fork, no body fluids, etc.)  adult users should be allowed a free market.

On the other hand MM has rules (like them or not) that must be followed.

This detracts a bit from the " Contest " thread but, I strongly believe that MM should not become a " free market ".  I like that standards are kept and the rules are very clear and if in doubt then don't put it up.  Mods cannot possibly police all of the images on the site and its up to members who want to retain a non porn site to report inappropriate images.

That's exactly the problem with a vague standard. The legal term is "chilling effect". Not having a bright line, people will self-censor fearing consequences if they  guess wrong where the fuzzy line will be on any given day. Since I watch the contest to get ideas from others, that's my loss.

The POTD 18+ contests are seen only by adults who have chosen to join the MM site and to view the contest. That select population can be trusted express its standards of taste with their votes.

Even better than better would be to have  the ability to re-post on a given day when it is necessary to have an image removed. Presently, after an image is removed at the poster's request, the site will not allow another image for that day.

You are permitted to submit once per day - that's it.
Choose wisely, first.

Hmm. It was up at one point because I had an entry and I looked. The entry still shows on SENDU. Maybe the whole thing was D/Q'd.

I have been wondering lately about the sendu utility. I find it very useful for keeping track of the POTD entries.  But lately I had been entering the forum contest as well. Down at the bottom of the page it says it does not think I have entered any forum contest in the last 15 days but that is not so. Has anyone experienced this malfunction?

BTW I'm entering the new Muscle of the day contest.

I do not believe there is a way to track entries on the forum contests other than a good memory or jotting a note on a piece of scratch paper.  I'm a bit of a computer nut so I write them down on a spreadsheet with the date so I can attempt not to re-enter the same image for 14 days.  I don't always get it right though.

Then why does the results page even mention the forum contests?

I do agree it might be hard for the utility to track forum entries.

That feature was based on an automated search of a particular forum contest thread. I've forgotten exactly how I did it now, but link to me a post of one of your entries and I'll try and get it working again.

There are several forum based contests that might benefit from Sendu's 15-day checker - these contests already monitor their entries closely.

Many other forum based contests are threads created daily - this would be almost impossible for Sendu to program into the 15-day checker.

Sendu:
Let's concentrate on getting the 15-day checker working properly for the site wide contests.

Looks like another lost page: No 18+ F contest results visible for Monday 8/4/14.

I am surprised. Of course.

If there are two days grace when an image is entered in 18+ contest then how come in todays contest ( 6/8/14 ) there is a guy pulling up on an erection?  Are images not checked out?

Bom dia to all from Portugal.

Does anyone know what has happened to the results for the 18+M POTD for 8/8?

I have to admit my interest is selfish as sendu has my images listed as having come 1st!

I have an image supposedly displayed in the runner ups for POTD 18+ womens contest. for August 18. There has never been a runner up displayed for August 18. This image never was displayed but on it was DQ because it was supposedly displayed on August 18 Sendu shows my image: 18+
https://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/po … ups/140818    18+

but in the winners gallery there is no listing for Monday August 18

PS Sendu used to give 15 day results for the member run contests then that was not working correctly and now it seems he dropped member run contests entirely

Here is your entry from Aug 18
https://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/po … iew/152877

Here are the Aug 18 PotD18+F results
https://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/po … ups/140818

There is a bug in the PotD18+F and PotD18+M code...
When an entry is disqualified after the close of voting the standings are rewritten, but the final contest standings are not written to the Winners Gallery.
This is a known bug and its been reported many times to MM/IB tech people. They have yet to fix the bug.

As for Sendu - it used to display a member's 15-day history for the PotD-OE.
When the PotD-OE changed hands in October 2010 it was decided to not continue Sendu's reporting on any of the forum-based contests.

Thanks for the clarification.  I noticed a few months ago Sendu had a notice saying "I don't think you have any other entries in the last 15 days, I thought hat referred to the forum contests, but now that notice is gone also.

The contest was changed many moons ago to require 2-day advance posting. This was to counter people posting excessively naughty images at the last minute. Why would it be necessary to D/Q an image after the close of voting?

Could it be that if one allows more time to do a task, the task-doer merely procrastinates a correspondingly longer time? Sooo bureaucratic.

Disqualifications (and removals) after voting has started happen daily.
Sometimes the submitter wishes the image removed.
And then sometimes there is cheating involved.

????? What is the point of cheating in a contest that has no prize and offers nothing of value? I can see inadvertent violations but deliberate cheating,  no.

The contests can have social benefits to winners (who advertise their wins on social media sites and may attract different/better artists to work with on that basis).  I have seen people deliberately violating the rules (specifically asking people to vote for them to stack votes in their favor) so yes, there are people who intentionally cheat (or who do not know the rules or bother to educate themselves in them).
