Here's my latest (and currently favorite). This is a self-promotion piece for the ad agency I work for - this is "our elite marketing team".

I think this is the one I'm most proud of. I'm JUST starting in retouching and I have to use my own images for the time being... Working on getting more to start a retouching port. (and before anyone asks, yes I have explicit permission) smile

Hi Kymlee, just wanted to offer some praise here ... As a photographer who PhotoShops I have so much respect for models who learn how too retouch in essence taking more control over their own destiny. As someone who loves the artistic/ creative aspect of this whole endeavor I think everyone who does this should know how to PhotoShop. I also think that those of us who do PhotoShop our own stuff show a distengt interest and artistic aptitude that sets us apart from those who are just here trying to make a quick buck (not direct at any of my fellow artists here in the retouch forum ... I have much luv for all of you).

Here are a few tips that I would like to add too my original critique (unrelated to this particular photo).

I don't see anything at all wrong with your color (so this isn't directed "at" anything that I see, it's just good advice for anyone starting out). If your not already calibrating your monitor, learn about calibration it will save you form re-editing in the future ... especially gamma calibration.

With that said, remember that more than half of people offering critique don't have calibrated monitors at all ... and half of them will swear that a pic is total crap due to color or tone on there low budget monitors when in fact there's nothing wrong with the actual pic lol. Take all retouch cratique (outside of the retouch forum where most of us are working on calibrated monitors) with a grain of salt and ask for clarification when vague answers don't make sense.

That's my best advice pretty lady, keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice and the praise Paul, you made me smile. I will definitely learn about re calibration, that makes a lot of sense actually. I notice the difference between this monitor on my alienware laptop and the toshiba I normally use, and the colors do tend to change! As for the importance of learning the trade of retouching, I also think it's important. I'm nowhere near any good, but I have been obsessive about reading/watching tutorials and trying to get better. it's definitely a learning curve and is a bit overwhelming at times trying to do things JUST right, but hey that's how people get better right? practice. It's just something I enjoy doing so I'm glad that the photographers have let me use my images so far. One of the little things in life ya know? being creative smile xo

This is my best/favourite for the moment.  One from today's shoot with Collette Von Tora (I wanted to work with her before she decided to let her hair grow back!).

I got into retouching a little over 6 months ago and I've been trying to perfect the art of beautiful skin texture. I'm really proud of how far I've come (I think you can definitely see an improvement in my portfolio). This is one of two images I just retouched and I'm so happy with the results!

Thanks!  I couldn't tell you about the mic.  It was the musician's.  Come to think about it, I don't know much about mics at all; when i used to DJ i would just plug my headphones into the mixer mic port and speak into the ear cup when i had an announcement.  Oh, those were the days.

I like this one as I used the photo hanging on the wall as inspiration to create a frame. Rather than get the rest I needed that night just stayed up and had fun.
