great edit, but to be honest, i like the 1st un-edited better then the retouched one.
It gives her face much more dimension and a kind of warrior-women story about it.

the finished job is nice if i had not seen the original, but the story have been edited out too..;-)

I don't know if they are my best, but here's my most recent two. I always seem to like my
newest ones the most.... maybe just because they are new. smile

p.s. there's some great work in this thread, congrats to everyone - your hard work does not go unnoticed.

This is one of my most recent retouches, and the one that I enjoyed the most doing and put in my top 3.

I follow a basic routine with all my retouches, starting with colour correction.  I run through a few options until I'm happy with the outcome.  Then I'll start on the blemish removal, zooming in at around 200-400%.  Depending on the image I'll use Unsharp Mask to bring out some details and once that's completed, I'll even out and/or smoothen the skin tones.  Here is where I'll see any blemishes I might have missed and fixing them.  Then I'll add a (slight S) Curve for final colour presentation.

Sometimes I'll take an image further and add in some effects, change the background, or just play around as see what comes of it.

Though I've had many successes and my fair share of disasters, this one has always been dearest to my heart.

While I'm certainly not a professional retoucher, I've always liked this image.  Colored the eyes, shifter make-up to silver, dodge/burn, lengthened the neck, shifted the jaw and nose to make more symmetrical (very few of people are perfect), toned, and I'm sure there was a little healing/cloning in there.

Nothing amazing but it is certainly something I spent wayyyyyy too much time on.  I used it as a learning process to try out a few different techniques.  I was trying to salvage an image that was beyond salvage.  I spent close to an hour on this when I am sure some of you could have done this in less than 10 minutes.  Gotta learn this stuff at some point I guess.

I can't say I have any one particular "best" image, because I work on many different types of images that are all unique in different ways. Some of my best work is actually food and product related.

Anyway, here are a couple of images from recent retouch threads that I enjoyed working on.

Used techniques learned from Calvin Hollywood & Natalia Taffarel.
Thank you to them both!

My recent favorite.  Namely because the model is my 2 year old daughter.

Just started being serious about professional retouching within the past couple of months, so please be kind.
