Much the way I think anybody ought to have their ass kicked who stomps on the flag, they STILL have the Constitutional right to do so. You CANNOT take away a person's freedom of religion. The Episcopal Church now officially APPROVES religious weddings for gay couples. Not "tolerates." Not "performs under duress." APPROVES. Gay Weddings are part of at least one sect of the Christian religion now.

NothingIsRealButTheGirl wrote: I know what you mean. I'm the same way about Libertarianism! So basicly you are offended by people who wish that government would not intrude on their lives financially then? you just proved flirty's point about being intolerant of other views becase it upsets you that people can be completely successful in life without government intervening or helping in any way,and have the ability to come from nothing and to make it to the point they can retire early with mid to high 7 figure savings and retirement because they had the work ethic and made the right decisions in life to do so... See...libertarians are tolerent of a lot of things because we believe in freedoms all across the board. we also don't want to police the world ,but instead take care of ourselves, and let ourselves as a nation be powerful in all aspects, and by doing thatmake the world a better place. but when someone from Cali who is addicted to govt and has by his own actions put a cap on how successful he is (and because the govt caps success as well)..tries to tell me its not fair I have made everything myself through my own hard work and (the last 7 or so years)decision making and calls me selfish and greedy and tells me I offend hm by these actions and want government to punish me for being successful(which every one of your posts sans the social issues have been since the now defunct forum), Go back to comparing religion to a dick... Except substitute religion with social marxism.....

its safe to say belief in creationism is on the decline....that means that less people believe in the biblical notion of creation today.......yet by that same token...that means that previous generations 20-50 years ago most likely ..did..believe in biblical creation. did mankind go to the moon.....did they have leaps in the medical field...did they come up with great ways to solve crime? yes they did. so never believe this notion the youth will be poisoned by hearing about creation. thing is...people can operate just fine juggling the spiritual with the scientific. atheists cry wolf just to be silly. atheists in the end really are just wind up artists. see one thing you learn as you get older is that as you watch belief drop....the situation of the world remains par for course. if the day comes and religion dies and atheism is king.....its going to be a big case of "meet the new boss....just the same as the old boss".

If anything the people holding on to creatism and want to push it are highly likely the ones who are the huge bigots(as one spect of creatism is a foundation to justify racism) One thing about religion, the big 3,is all three have their own versions of an end times and a great war,but each version has their own ending with a winner and loser.... Its not a prophacy when its a self fulilling one because human nature is what it is when they have been fighting over which invisible man in the sky is the right one for thousands of years...And now we have the technology to make these "visions" come true.. Except the sad thing is that there won't be any winners in the end,if this does come to pass

Libertarians are all about PAYING for THEIR OWN benefits WITH THEIR OWN money THEY EARN FROM THEIR OWN HARD WORK AND DECISION MAKING.....WITHOUGH ANY GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE OR HELP! And most libetratians carry little if any personal debt and spend within their means...and want their government to operate as efficiantly ... Something neither political party has proven to be able to do for decades.... But I can see how you resent my very existance because I don't worship the religion known as government, and because I don"t believe my efforts should be for the "good of all people" Carry on,you are what I thought you were....

It's just the economic ones where they faceplant. And nobody is anything but selfish, when you get down to it. Nothing wrong with that; it's how we are wired. It's just that some people are ALSO able to see their own self interest in the bigger picture and the longer view, while other people only see the the tiny, short term, self-serving stuff.

No, that's incorrect. We do see the big picture. We just know that it's just a big image on a big screen, being projected. Mods tend to shut threads down when they see fit. Sometimes threads that usually get locked before the first reply don't get locked at all. Other times, those that are seemingly going well get locked for no apparent reason. ??? Whatever the case, if this thread has been mostly civil, why rush to have it locked? I'll admit to not having followed it for all 15 pages but I did look at a few and didn't see any hidden posts (maybe I didn't look at the right pages). Even if there were/are 8 or 10 hidden posts, I'd say that's mild for a thread that is into it's 15th page now. If there were 8 or 10 on the first page, I wouldn't complain if it got locked but I don't think this topic is divisive or controversial. If a person doesn't want to have love or party time in their life at least sometimes, perhaps they should check their pulse.

NothingIsRealButTheGirl wrote: Can you stop threadjacking, please? We are trying to have a serious clusterfuck. x1000 That does it. I'm starting a thread that talks about ordained ministers who go into politics who have sex with farm animals and then make a shitload of money with porn, which of course puts them into the 1% of society, which allows them to buy more votes when they go to church, and leer at kids to get into their filthy porn vids, and, well you get the idea. Since this is a photography site, I'll recommend that the kids are wearing caution tape and standing on RR tracks.

I was merely questioning the fact that the forum rules simply forbid this topic from even being presented. The fact that it is civil isn't germane to the situation. After all, if I started a thread asking for 'reputable porn producers' it would simply be shut down as it just isn't allowed to even be broached, no matter how civil, helpful or informative.

Well, thankfully, all the deliberate attempts to derail this thread continue to fail, and that's good, because this thread continues to actually be about a historic move forward in terms of protecting the true ideals of this nation, and anyone who isn't interested in celebrating that can simply avoid this one thread out of hundreds on the MM forums. Here is a great ON-TOPIC article about how Rick Hodges (yep, the defendant in Obergefell v. Hodges) read from the bible at the wedding of his longtime friend Steve George, who married his partner Jeff Gatwood yesterday. Mr. Hodges still believes marriage is between a man and a woman, but far, FAR more importantly, he believes in celebrating his friend's happiness. Maybe we can all learn a lesson from Rick Hodges and apply that to this thread from here on in, yes?
