Alright I just turned down a photographer who wanted to shoot with me based on an image in his port..... I did not reply to his message but rather commented on the image ....this is what i said

I appreciate the interest to shoot with me....but I will have to turn it down based on this image....I find it very humiliating and disrespectful to the church and the christian faith...... *notate* I'm not religious I have respect for every faith..... and have seen alot of "art" and have the highest respect for it.... but I dont see this as art.... I just see it as disrespectful and I'm guessing the church was not aware of this.

Now I'm not really religious but its just a RESPECT THING..... I found the image very degrading and humiliating......what do you think.....

can I post a link to the image.... i'm not sure I dont want to get outed...

I think it's rude to turn him down by leaving a comment and not a PM. I would have never done anything like that. I think it's unprofessional and rude. Just my two cents.

While there is nothing wrong with not working with the photographer i do think it was tacky to leave it as a photo comment.

Although i would love to see the photo big_smile

PM it?

Why would you leave it as an image comment?
In my opinion, thats totally unprofessional.

If you didnt want to work with him because of one image then reply to his message privately.  It is based on ONE image in his port...there are others.  Just because he did that image with one model doesnt mean that he will do the same with you.

A lot of photographers do different types of shots, if you dont like them then dont look at them.  If you dont want to shoot with him because you didnt the the shot then thats your views.
But for you to go off about religion is total bullshit because he couldnt give a shit less that your religious beliefs are.

I also, would have never turned down a talented photographer based on one image either though. If I don't like it, I don't have to shoot it. Plain and simple.

PM me the link to the picture?

add me to the "it was unprofessional" list.

you have every right to choose who you shoot with for any number of reasons, you could have turned him down in PM rather than leaving a tag for the next visitor to his images to see/read.

Some would considered that stealing which is worse than unsolicited critique.

How about if you just describe it?

but the tag can be deleted. She was trying to be honest, just chose the wrong method.

I have models turn me down, I don't toss my panties because they said no.

We have different opinions on this issue. I think religion is crap, so something like that wouldn't bother me.

Well you did just disrespect the photographer (in my opinion) by leaving a tag so everyone can see.

I think that was the best thing you could have done. Then again i dont think anyone here thinks your a backstabber, just a laps of judgment in this case.

whether I leave a tag or not.... comments are there for a reason are they not? and just because someone doesnt post the comment doesn't mean that they dont think it.....every image is there to be critiqued....I've had others leave bad comments on my images before.... i'm fine with it.....no big deal.....it makes me stronger and it also helps me learn.

I think it was quite rude as well to leave a comment like that on a pic, to each his own on their beliefs!
