Please register at the following address even if you're just interested:

[email protected]

I'd like everyone who's already committed to attending to leave some spam tags on people who live close to you. Pretty girls, hot guys, talented photographers, etc. Tell them about the party, get them to carpool with you, etc. You can do this on MySpace and facebook as well.

Please check the carpool list on the first page to see if you can help people who needs a ride.

And if you haven't already, check out the Greater Washington DC Events Master List:

You can add me to the carpooling list, I wouldn't mind bringing one more person from Richmond if anyone wants to go.

Here's a fun fact:

About 1/3 of registered photographers are female.

Just found this today.  Scanned through the whole thread, I couldn't find the cost associated with this event, free or fee?

I'd love to take part with this event, if it still has room.  I am a low profile and low ego emission photographer from DE.

Here is what my intention/needs:

1.  Come in Sat and depart Sunday.
2.  Need a place to stay for the nite.  Just a place to set tent will be fine.  I am hardy and don't mind to make love with my propane camp heater all nite long.  As long as i have a place to shower and brush my teeth in the morning.  If there is a nearby hotel will be fine too.

Here is what I can provide for the group:

1.  I will be departing from DE, so I can provide a ride to anyone (non-smoker) along I-95 and I -60 on Sat and Sunday.
2.  I can bring my two strobes, softboxes, wireless remote, reflector stands and all goodies
3.  I will bring one or two bottle of French wines for mine and other's consumption.  I don't like beer but will steal one from other for the nite. wink
4.  I can sponsor a traveling model with the right look and attitude as long as I have some reasonable exclusive shooting hours with her.

I hope the there is still one more room.  I will do the registration if the signal is GREEN.  smile

No fee to attend. I will post your carpool offer once you're registered. I will have 3 crash zones depending on when you want to sleep, I should have enough sleeping bag space for 12. I also have a plenty of tent space in the backyard. Nearby hotels are between $30~$90 a night.

Probably won't need any more strobes unless you have battery to operate them outdoors. All indoor shooting spaces will have strobes already.

Thank you.  Email sent.

I do have 8500 watt generator for outdoor shoot. big_smile.  I will bring just my 2 SB800 flashes with stands and umbrellas.  Trek lightly is better smile.

Any speed traps from DC to Winchester?  or Should I bring my V1?

A lot of speed traps in Loudoun County (Leesburg/ Rt 7)
Not as much on I-66, but plenty on I-81

RADAR DETECTOR IS ILLEGAL IN VIRGINIA!

Keep your radar detector in a closed compartment. Traffic violation is heavily fined in VA.

Depending on which part of DC you're coming from, I actually recommend taking I-70 west all the way to hagerstown and then take I-81 down to Winchester.

Address and directions will be sent out to registered guests today and tomorrow.

Early comers:

Please bring cookies, pies, cakes, chips, and soda

Afternoon comers:

Please bring booze, handcuffs, and chains

Overnighters:

Please bring sleeping bags and pillows

Note: Last year I had tons of leftover beers. Please bring soda instead, preferably cans or 16-oz bottles. If you drink beer, only bring enough for yourself.

WTF! You gotta be kidding me. To deny us to meet a great artistic mind is outrageous! I'll have to bring snacks and offer a ride to anyone who plans to visit this event.

Connor asked me these questions via e-mail. I thought I'd answer them on the forum...

1.  Could I assume that all models and photographers attending this event are on a TF/P basis.  The specific terms of TF/P will depend on the individual agreement between model and photographer

2.  Are there any sign up sheet to match models and photographers?  Hunting for models or photographers to wok with will be diffiult at the time of the shoot.  I prefer to line up a few modles before the trip.

3. Are there other photographer willing to sponsor out of towm models.  One model contacted to me, no sure if any other is willing to share to cost?

1. All pictures taken at the event will be considered "journalism". Pictures taken at shooting stations will be considered "open trade", meaning multiple photographers can take anyone one inside the shooting area, and are assumed to send models the pictures and models will assume implied license for using those pictures. All pictures taken in shooting station 3 will be assumed "exclusive trade", meaning no "over-the-shoulder" shooting.

I would encourage that no money exchange hand for any shooting during the event, but I am not going to prohibit it. Tipping the MUA is allowed and understood. Please use the event as an opportunity to meet and network with potential future collaborators.

2. Any shoot arrangements should be done either in this thread or via PM. The host will not play matchmaker for models and photographers.

3. Any individual who are interested in participating but require travel funds should declare right here in the thread. I will list the names of such people in the guest list if the travel is more than 250 miles. Sponsorship can be done by one-on-one basis or I can be the middleman if there are enough interest. Please don't hesitate to spam promote this event to out-of-region people who might not have heard of it.

I did not see any listing of MUA's.  To ensure their participation, I wonder if we can as a group (photographers) come out a fixed $ for each of us to contribute.  I think it is fair.  Their effort is much appreciated. smile

Please feel free to recruit makeup artists and stylists for the event. I've been relying on the pyramid scheme in regards to invitation.

Hopefully I can make it! I'd really love to go.
Depends. I'd have to travel 4+ hours to get there, and then probably not be able to stay long. I couldn't stay the night, I have a little one. I don't know how it would work out. D:
