Agreed.  Especially on TFP...after all it's all about exposure.

Generally concur except that some models may not wish to be identified due to the type or extent of exposure. :-)

5 weeks since sailing.

Please read this to the tune of  "To all the girls I have loved before" smile  lol

I feel very bad for not getting my cruise editing finished yet, in fact I have barely started. My travel schedule has been nuts, and I also had some time sensitive work that had to be completed. The good news is I have 1 more week of travel and then I should have a full week that I dedicate to the cruise backlog. wink   In the meantime please accept my sincere apologies.

I do have a few cruise shots in my port fyi.

Cheers everyone, and I hope getting back to reality has not been to hard hard on anyone. wink

We didn't have THIS much drama, nor did we have the revenue ($180+ million).
Wish we could charge lurkers! :-)

But you did VERY well on that shot you are using for your avatar today. It is still my favorite from what I've seen so far. Hope to see more of your work from the cruise.

you might want to less rude and also delete the image from your post to prevent dissemination.

If anyone else doesn't like their image them please just send me a polite PM and I'll oblige. I onkt learnes to post images a few days ago and already there is drama. The terms of rhe cruise event posting clearly state that models will provide releases.

PHILOSOPHICAL POV.

[This is adult stuff--for grownups, intellectual competent intelligentsia who can handle metaphysical philosophical discussions juxtaposed with tech talk and acronym-laden jargon. This is somewhat advanced stuff and not intended for consumption by visual minded readers.

It is not written while sleep deprived nor under the influence of anything mind altering--unless soy milk is mind altering! :-)  What I'm saying is that it is coherent--you must might not understand it! This has not been peer reviewed. It was typed quickly while waiting for someone to clear the bathroom.]

Some have suggested the use of an ND filter in some lighting conditions to achieve certain results.

Others have suggested shooting in RAW so that WB and exposure can be adjusted after the fact.

Retrospectively and introspectively, I've analyzed some of the phenomenon and tried to understand human behavior and the variance between my perspective and others. To reconcile the difference, I figured that I must be observing this through ROSE-TINTED GLASSES.  I have an intentional positive, optimistic bias. Through my mental lens I see things with a positive bent. After the time, effort, money, resources allocated to this endeavor I was determined to have a good time. [Except for the agony of deciding which images to post process and exactly how to do it and struggles with technology that seem to invert the jurisdictional hierarchy laid out in Genesis 1:28 where man and woman were to have dominion over the earth yet many processes exact a compliance and recalcitrance that I'm not comfortable with.]

Yes, there were less-than-desirable homo sapiens on the vessel and less-than-desirable behavior. With a sample size as large as we had for as long as we did, it's inevitable that the gene pool gets a bit of flotsam that wasn't filtered out. Through my rose-tinted glasses I filter that out and reframe the scene and crop it out, so to speak.

I'm not totally naive. Even without a hearing aid, I hear well. I know some of what goes on. It's not that I like compassion and caring but I deliberately choose to bypass, circumnavigate and ignore some nonsense.

Since I've traveled internationally before (including Mexico), and cruised (a couple times), done a few dozen shoots with great models (n>30), sponsored mature models who didn't need babysitting (n=2), I know that I have an advantage, e.g.  knowing what to expect, operational flexibility, and perspective.

This is not aimed at anyone nor everyone. But if the shoe fits, wear it. Just my phenomenological analysis. [I concede that some words may be used malapropistically!]

Like the term "pursuit of happiness" I know a lot of this is vague. It's intentionally so to cover a multitude of situations. It is subject to your interpretation, which may or may not be correct. I'm not opposed to a dispassionate discussion but please no flaming.

In other words, only level headed, controlled or non emotional, logical discourse is encouraged.

Bathroom is now available so I'm going to close this post and proceed with daily ablutions. [Yes, Bob, you may have to use your dictionary again! :-) I should but I'm not since I'm in a hurry!]

FOR ALL, (regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, intelligence level, etc.):
Have a great day! :-)

PS My executive summary: To paraphrase Luke 2:14, let there be peace on earth, good will toward all men and women! :-)

Reminds me of a joke from Peanuts. "I love mankind. It's people I can't stand!" :-)

Update: yes, another. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenomenol … chology%29  Hope that link works correctly but it supports that the word used 7 paragraphs above is probably not used malapropistically.

We are supposed to be professionals. We can choose to act in character or as true selves. I'm not suggesting that we deny reality of the events that we witnessed nor experienced but merely to use a little mental "PhotoShop" to mask or mitigate the negatives, and bring out the positives. This is not news, this is art. We have license to alter reality! The drama and conflict is entertaining and educational but I'm concerned about the corrosive nature that negative emotions running thru your mind will have on your body.

I'm not going to fight with you on here Bob. What is rude is to ignore a models legal right to her image. Holding you accountable for your actions is nor "rude". We discussed previously in a PM that you could not post my image with out a release. You chose to do it anyway. I'm not saying more on this thread.

hahah LMFAO!!!! no really ROFLMAO......

Find it really sad that models are BEGGING for images...

Find it sadder that "photographers" are removing their images because of legal threats from models seemingly because the images are subpar, not approved, and/or  *gasp* NO contract signed.

......WOW sign me up for the next adventure!!!!  NOT!!...no offense to anyone BUT so not my cup of tea and so NOT what was talked about, outlined, expected, OR may I say even remotely professional.    I personally love sunshine and lollypops...but not when they are blown up my A$$!

PS....please dont get me wrong there were a few AMAZING!!! STANDUP!!! TRUE-TO-YOUR word, devoted to the IDEA, talented, professional photogs on this trip and sadly, many models didnt get to work with them.

As for the models...some amazingly talented, gifted, and beautiful women were not captured....and THAT to me sums up the WRONG of this 'organized' adventure.

No disrespect to anyone, just my opinion.
