Yes Paolo - movies.

I'm going to catalog mine when I have time.  I figured others might already have theirs cataloged.

Much to my wife's dismay probably 300-400. I've been collecting movies since the format came out and have a hard time getting rid of them (even the really bad ones).

Far fewer now that I'm converting my archive to digital files.  66 movies and counting.  I'd say I have another 50 discs or so

After we moved from Australia and I got a job in a video store my collection is severely depleted I have about 40-50. Some of those are pack of 3 dvd's or boxsets etc. though so it's probably a bit more than that if you count actual films vs. boxes.

Under 10, all gifts. I learned from VHS there was no point in buying, the format was always going to change.

hmm, I categorize mine into genres...er mainly because most are stored away in boxes...but when last counted a few years back it topped 500...i pretty sure it has grown considerably since then...now started adding blue -ray. smile

Maybe 5, one or two of which came free with the purchase of the player (which I use to connect to the Internet services now).

counting tv series sets as individual dvds, I have around 1,000. Looking at the answers above makes me think I need to find better things to do with my time lol

There were 42 in the first shelf-thingie, multiplication says at least 630 of them.  But there is a huge pile on the couch right now, too.  Oh, and I didn't even think of the Max Headroom set which got left in the bathroom one day and not returned.

I stopped collecting them years ago.  I gave away about 40 and sold the rest for $1 each.  The chances of me watching the same one over the next year is very slim.

2 - and that was because they were $1 and goodwill needed a $5 minimum order to use a debit card.

My cousin, though... has a problem:

Mine are all in storage now so I can't count. But I think less than 30. (Both DVD and blu ray). I haven't bought one in years. With digital downloads/rentals and streaming being the norm now I just don't see the point. Though if I'm honest I do miss the DVD extras and commentaries now and again.

Less than 5.  Wait -- do I have to count the porn?

Seriously -- I have very few, and I never watch them.  I actually should have more (as a music publisher, I really should have more -- I should have copies of all the movies & TV shows (domestic & foreign) that use my songs.  If I did, I'd have several hundred DVDs.

So, a follow up question for those with large collections -- how often do you watch these DVDs?  There are very, very few movies / shows I'd watch more than once.

I stopped counting around 1400 but suspect I have close to 2000.

Most of them are in dvd binder/cases in alphabetical order .... seems to work fairly well as a system, but I need to invent a rack system where they slide on a pole and can be easily pulled and replaced.

I think I have about 800 movies on hard drives.

Yes, I may be a bit excessive! lol
