What are your goals?
I've been thinking a lot about where I want to take my photography. Right now I'm just shooting random stuff that appears in my brain for fun. Thinking I should set some goals and maybe get published, do an exhibit, make a book, I don't know. So just wondering - do you guys have any specific photography goals or do you just shoot stuff for fun and/or a living? On my road map for 2013 I plan to 1) learn the art of printing 2) Learn how to incorporate layers Yep. Jan 15 13 02:57 pm Link What are your goals To host even better and more fun photoshoots this year than I did last year... and with over 60 models and photographers on last years Sept 2nd 'Cruiseboat Photoshoot'... it's gonna be a pretty hard act to follow... I'm thinking an art comp class. 3) Get published. 3a) Make a little money from this thing. Jan 15 13 05:22 pm Link For me developing a personal style was intensly satisfying. My style is environmental - where the setting becomes integral to the image whether on video or stills. It works for me and makes me happy - as I'm not a commercial photographer personal satisfaction from the creative process is all that matters. Jan 16 13 03:36 am Link Goals are to regain the momentum I had when doing still life, yet in a more touching personal way in beauty and portraits. No barriers on where or for what. Havng a hard time making that happen where I live so some radical changes are coming. Jan 16 13 03:43 am Link My goal is just to have fun and to get beautiful ladies photos that make them happy. I seem to have arrived. I still have room for improvement and try to make every shoot better than the last, but I've been busy enough that I have stopped looking for new models for the moment. Jan 16 13 04:40 am Link Simple, to become a better photographer. Jan 16 13 04:52 am Link Goals for 2013: To learn how to market myself better online. Both of my WLU 600's are not working at the moment. I want to get more creative, and re-learn why I loved this so much before. Now that it's a job, I worry more about paying bills than what and how I shoot. Jan 18 13 11:03 am Link Great question. Where to go from here? What's the point of all this? Jan 18 13 11:13 am Link Short term: Find a job (I'll be a military retiree soon) Mid term: "Sponge" as much knowledge as I can. Long Term: Become great fetish photographer. Starkey Jan 18 13 11:17 am Link regarding the work i do for pay my goal is to keep getting better at my craft (which sometimes involves more gear). also ever more efficient and profitable (which means less gear. lol). the goal is to do the least work for the most money while still making customers happy. but i'm not a non-profit organization or something offered as a free service to the community by the government or bored rich people. regarding models, i just enjoy meeting new people and sometimes even make a friend or two. Jan 18 13 11:47 am Link unless you're french, maybe better not to ask such questions. watched prometheus last night and for me the whole thing with the robot was the most interesting part (well, aside from watching charlize get flattened). a robot with a survival instinct? that wants to kill its parents (shades of cylons). interesting. dd photography wrote: Jan 18 13 11:49 am Link I would at least like this year, to get this hobby to pay for it's self. Jan 18 13 11:56 am Link the key is to stop spending on gear and start collecting money from clients. don't ask me how i know this. lol. the problem is some things like weddings require a lot of gear. and every few years that gear starts to become somewhat obsolete.
