Maybe your chart uses a different study? Of course, demographics matters: the men in different ethnic groups have greatly different average penis sizes.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I LOVE this chart every time I see it. It's a real ego boost to know that at least one study calls me ideal/perfect!

I have no clue how accurate the "preference" chart is. Have these girls literally measured? Or is it based on estimations? The average person (man or woman) is generally pretty off when it comes to estimated measurements.

I doubt that most men are any more aware of what average penis size is than most women are. But, most men do equate "more" with "better," whether it is biceps or speed or penis size. So, they are going to compare, one way or another. But, most of them do this with as little looking at other men's penises as possible.
