Aug 04 07 05:04 am Link Maybe there should be a red chair chalange give everybody a month to do thier red chair shoot and return at the end of the month with tier pictures and techniques. Gotta love know-it-all shit heads that don't really know anything. Great work marc, great lighting and great series. Aug 04 07 06:18 am Link The cube series....i love it....great idea.... Aug 04 07 06:30 am Link haha I was so happy to find this thread, I do like to figure things out for myself, however that generally requires a base knowlegde of lighting gear that I don't have yet. Still mainly using my eye, the sun, and sometimes natural reflectors like white stone bridges. So after finding the chair photos, ofcourse I wondered how. Aug 05 07 03:12 am Link While the photos themselves are nothing short of spectacular, I think the real piece of art is his profile A fun read. Aug 05 07 04:11 am Link Overall I love the lighting you used in these Marc. My only question is if you fired all seven heads in each shot or only used certain heads at different times - the D4 packs are quite easy to control like that especially if you have them all connected via USB as I suspect. As far as the series as a whole I liked it, though to be honest I think if it was me I would have edited the sets down a bit further - maybe 2-3 shots per model, but hey I'm a picky guy lol! Excellent work - can't wait to see the cube series man. Aug 05 07 04:55 am Link Lory wrote: Originals look shitty when you don't know how to light. Obviously, this guy knows how to light...that's the bottom line. Great work! Aug 05 07 12:00 pm Link been a fan of 'the red chair guy' since Tara showed up in the chair. I happen to love photographers who know how to control light - they get MUCH more respect. My continuous kudos to the chair and the man who shoots it. Aug 05 07 02:10 pm Link I've said this earlier, but the real champions of the Red Chair are the women who pose in it. (barely mentionned here). People have said some really nice things in this thread, and when you've invested this much time shooting and editing a personal project, well... it makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over. So, thanks folks..truly. Glad you dig it. As for the gentleman from NY who has written an entire thesis on my lighting: A: no, you don't know what's up. B: you should not speak in someone's place no matter how much expertise you think you have. Aug 05 07 02:52 pm Link |
