Is your dad a model?

now THAT's a scary thought.  but i think i'll need him to get me into a bar!

A-T,

If you were 18, I would say they'd probably let you in with him there, but 14 might be pushing it.  It might be worth a shot though.  What do you all think?

Actually, we're meeting there at 8pm. I'll bet if you show up at 7:45 and order some french fries they won't kick you out until at least 9:30.

Hello- I'm all for the NYC MM meet up- though the first place to come to mind when I think MODEL/PHOTOGRAPHER NYC GET TOGETHER is the VILLAGE.

MANHATTAN- being the center of NYC- sorry NOT brooklyn- and not to start trouble. Brooklyn- is making it difficult for many people to get to. Manhattan is easier to get around- it is.

I agree with Serena, Manhattan would've been fair, especially the village but oh well they do say Brooklyn is the new Manhattan(yea right!) but I'll try to be there either way.

Well, we started in Manhattan and there were alot of complaints about the location being too uptown. You're saying the Village, someone else sai the fashion district. I don't know the Village at night so I picked something I do know. Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg is literally 8 minutes from Union Square on the L-Line. You can't walk to Spring Street that fast. Next time it will be in Manhattan.

No matter where the party  is being held some people are going to Bitch  that its to far  uptown, its not close to the path ,penn station,  grand central ,its to far from the subway  blah blah blah.  Well this  is going to be a  fun way for everyone to get together  and see the faces behind the avaitars , network and have some cheap drinks and play pool  and just have a kick ass time
I know I willbe there and will be bringing along  some of my MM friends and soon to be MM members

I've been to a couple of these, and they always turn out great.  I'm actually considering doing a BBQ for the MM's that live in NJ or New Yorkers that don't mind an hour commute.

Count me in...networking is always good.

Do they have any hot buffalo wings???

Bring it back to Manhattan. Any further than that and I'll most likely end up in CT.

Williamsburg is nice, we have good beer. It's 8-10 minutes from Union Square on the L-Line.

Manhattan next time, we're trying to make it a regular thing.

It's just a few blocks from the williamsburg bridge. Parking in that area of brooklyn is always available. The first location is in an area of manhattan where its almost impossible to find a parking space. Very easy to park if you feel like spending $20 to $25 to park in a lot (less money for beer ... oh goody...). People from manhattan talk about brooklyn like its a 3rd world country that they need extra vaccines , a passport and a sherpa in order to visit.  (manhattan comment not directed at you Gary, just ranting) . The Village has become a rather obnoxious place to hang out since its been "Yuppiefied" and most of the people who hang out there are tourists. As a result the bars tend to be overpriced. Willyb is just fine a place to have this gathering.

Yeah, at first I was thinking of getting to the city by train since I'm only 4 blocks from the station and it's only a 25 minute ride after that but it starts at 8pm which would allow me about 2 drinks and then heading back before the trains stopped running. Or I could just sleep in Central Park covered with some newspapers.

If you mean the directions, I had posted them earlier...

Posted by Ched:
FROM NEW JERSEY
Take the Holland Tunnel to Canal Street straight across Manhattan to the Manhattan Bridge. Right after the bridge exit for the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, make a right at the light, and go right again at the fork following the signs for Brooklyn Queens Expressway towards Triboro (north toward the Bronx). It's exit 32 from the BQE, Metropolitain Avenue. Go to the second light and turn right. You'll be on Union Avenue crossing numbered streets. Make a left onto North 12th Street and follow it to Driggs Avenue, making another left. It's #536 Driggs Avenue, but I suggest you look for parking anywhere.
