my pictures may not be PRO worthy, but i like learning my flaws and errors on a poor mans budget with the ever so "WTF was i thinking here to get this shot?"
... or

let me use a clamp on this BBQ to hold my reflector for this session, or better yet, let me call up one of my friends say Mario or Harold and assist me on one of my shoots... CRANK THE JAMS, fire up the QUE, and keep the finger on the trigger..

thats the "POORMANS SHOOTOUT"...

if you like doing those... let me hear a HELL YA!!!

I keep missing top page. I was busy in post processing. I would love to do a BBQ/Shoot. I'm on my 3rd Foster Big oil cans. Let me know it these look weird to you guys. Well other than me being a crappy photographer.

This model says I don't shoot Asian enough. I told her the first 5 models I ever shot were Asian.

No editing to this photo. Any constructive tips would be greatly appreciated

When shooting dark on dark, it's usually wise to add some light to separate the subject from the background, unless you want them to merge together visually. Whether that's edgelighting the subject, or adding light to the background, or some other approach, it's something to keep in mind.

How much less effective would these be if there wasn't an edge to the subject, and their clothes and/or hair blended into the background? (I'm not claiming they're great shots, merely pointing out some uses for separation.)

https://modelmayhm-2.vo.llnwd.net/d1/photos/090713/02/4a5b019abfe60_m.jpg https://modelmayhm-2.vo.llnwd.net/d1/photos/070314/03/45f7a760ae4cf_m.jpg https://modelmayhm-2.vo.llnwd.net/d1/photos/090713/02/4a5b014790e76_m.jpg

Even in cases where there is some differentiation (the dark blue on black, for example), an edge light can help provide some 'zip'.

Yeah i actually really wanted to do that, but my space I shot in was overly small. about 8'x6'. I couldn't fit 2 light stands, backdrop stands, tripod and my fat ass all in the spot, so i didn't use the backlight. As it was I was already kneeling on 2 phone books to get that shot lol However i'm pretty sure i still couldn't light it as well as you can. I like your work a lot.

Heres my idea shootout... not exactly to scale but let me vent...

Get a nice timeshare house (split cost for weekend between 6 photographers)

(2) photogs on Friday, (2) on Saturday, and (2) on Sunday

Models must be chosen by the photographers who have the house for that day.
All models must pay a $60 entry fee to help pay for the use of property and photographers time and release of images.

Escort Fee- $100 dollars, and that goes to "you" the photographer who had the model who brought an escort.

Photogs shoot from 10am to 1am
Photog and models are allowed to sleep over/in the property after shot

Previous night/day photographers must leave the house by 9am, with house in tact

Photographers are responsible for their daily food and drinks on the day they shoot, while keeping up with cleaning for the next day photographers

a fun BBQ between ALL participating models and photogs on Sunday at 6pm
(meet and greet style )

A courtesy donation of $10 per model/photog covers food, drinks, ice, for all to share at the BBQ.

"Non model related guest" must pay a $5 fee upon entering just for Sundays BBQ

somethng lke that.... ok going to bed now.

the only problem i see is that on sunday the photogs and models time are cut down due to the bbq, while the other 4 photogs have all day fri and sat

that's true. Why not shoot until 6pm everyday? That's 8 hours to shoot. then they can relax and hangout or whatever.

I was trying to do the Strobist Boot Camp #2 Assignment #3 but the room I chose is to small and uninteresting. And I don't know how to light a room.

Here it is anyways.

I can see US shooting in this one room!!! thats way enough room for 7 pair of strobes, 5 models, 11 photographers, and 6 escorts who double as wardrobe assistant to the models..... hahahahah

(im kiding folks, the escorts would have to step out)
