New Makeup bag and kit organizing
Very inspiring thread. Many I should take some pictures of my stuff some time.. But for now just a link where you can buy the quad packs online Set2Go Mar 19 07 06:21 pm Link Ughhhh I got to get a new storage technique! Now I have a big metal traincase w/ wheels, but I just ordered SO much stuff - Graftobian Concealers, Face Atelier Foundations, etc. I have no idea how to store it now...gah? Mar 19 07 08:11 pm Link Lone Wolf Creations wrote: Oh my gosh thank you so much for that link! Mar 19 07 10:03 pm Link L'post d'double. Mar 20 07 07:38 am Link Okay, I'll play too! This is off my Sidekick so I apologize for the quality: ![]() Yup, that's the entire thing. As you can see, I didn't choose my company name arbitrarily. ![]() Under the front lid is a bag containing all my pencil and other liners, and behind the foundations is another bag with all my glosses, etc. There's more than a few eyeshadow palettes in the bottom compartment that you can't see, and if you look closely you can see the Make Up For Ever Flash Colour Kit (with original colors) behind the stackables of my Loose Colours. The two make an excellent combination (it's how I usually do eyes). One bag, containing skincare stuff, is hidden behind the opposite side of the box. Mar 20 07 07:38 am Link Wow, this thead is awesome!!! I'll post some pictures of my "Start-Out" kit too as soon as I get home...By the way- How do i paste images directly onto this w/o having to paste a link with it? **Thank you all for sharing images of your kits, this was such a cool idea** Mar 20 07 10:13 am Link Kenia Mishelle wrote: I don't think there is another way. You just post the link and put these tags around it, without the spaces: Mar 20 07 11:47 am Link Ok, here's my latest iteration of my kit. I actually bought this yesterday at Orvis. I have been looking for something a little more friendly for my necessities. I carry my brushes in a MUFE round stand-up kit. All of my hair stuff and bigger items are in my Zuca bag. No pics of that - it's still a disaster! ![]() and ![]() My 8 or so palettes could potentially fit in here, and my 30 or so pigments too. But I need my cream shadows, lip colors, bronzers and powders most. I have all of my skin care in here too. And there's still more room! Mar 20 07 12:50 pm Link I'm trying to make them photos with the right tags, but it's not working for some reason! OK, I got it! Mar 20 07 12:55 pm Link Very cool luggage with all of those compartments....and thanks David- for the photo help. Mar 20 07 02:22 pm Link Kenia Mishelle wrote: It's a fly-fishing multi-reel case, to be honest. That's what I went looking for. Much softer than a tackle box, but the compartments are fully adjustable and/or removable. It was $59, but I am sure it could be found online a bit cheaper. I have no patience when I really want something, though. Mar 20 07 03:50 pm Link Here is my new kit, more compact and pimped out. I this kit for my birthday from very good make up artist friend of mine. I am lucky girl ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mar 20 07 06:52 pm Link ohh its so cute where did your firend find it ![]() I love the colors ![]() very cute. Mar 20 07 07:35 pm Link I am not sure what craft store she got it in, but I added those plastic boxes myself. It is much smaller and compact now. Love it! Mar 20 07 08:02 pm Link took down the pic cuz it was SO old. Mar 20 07 08:04 pm Link what an incredible kit where on earth did you begin... Deadly Design Make-up wrote: Mar 20 07 08:07 pm Link Well I began at the beginning its a very good place to start... ohh sorry I broke out into song for a second there ![]() I have done make-up for the theater for about 15 years but professionally for the last 3 years. When I attened school I got a prity good supply of make-up but like any addiction I cant pass up prity pallets and colour and brushes ohhh my ![]() I just collect things that are beautiful colors , great quality and usefullness. I like to make things little and am obsessed with the whole shrinking down the size of things that go into my kit, I rarely use that huge silver kit I prefer to use my little monster kit, It s amazing how much stuff fits into that little thing ![]() yup here it is, and belive it or not all of this stuff fits inside, I have since shrunk down the size of alot of these bottles since the picture was taken and can now fit even more stuff into this little baby ![]() ![]() Mar 21 07 12:06 am Link ganeshkarma wrote: cool good to know I am off to Micheals :0 skip.... skip.... skip..... I just love how they have the cutest and fashionable stuff made for paper , and yet we pimp them out into make-up cases, they are generally lighter and cuter Mar 21 07 12:13 am Link I picked up the best tackle box the other day, 4 huge drawers that lock into it's own caddy with a handle, the drawers all come completely out and have adjustable slots and are about 1.3 inches deep, so I can fit all my Ben Nye singles into it and see them all perfectly. Gawd I had the best time loading that sucker up out of my old train cases. So much lighter too! Mar 21 07 01:07 am Link Dee wrote: I laughed when I realized that although this is a basic kit, the CLARITY and photos were well done, then I realized a PHOTOGRAPHER posted.... Mar 21 07 03:28 pm Link well since this thread has been brought back to life I was all inspired to re-make some of my lables, I just got married and well my old lables had my old last name on it, soooooo out with the old and in with the new, I Also wanted to post some new pictures, I have done away with most of the zip lock style baggies and found some great clear zippered bags and now that every thing is all re-labled I am very happy with my self. ![]() I have prity much done away with my big heavy train case and moved everything into this little "pit" style box, I can pull it all out or work from it. And it locks so everthing will be safe, when its fully loaded it weights about 19 pounds but with a nice soft soulder strap it doesnt seam all that heavy. And this kit is much easier to take on the bus or sky train:) Here is the kit all packed and ready for the day ![]() here is all of the stuff that was inside the kit, its amazing what you can fit into a little area I am the queen of packing ![]() ![]() Close up of my new lables on some of my pallets ![]() The creams and what not bag ![]() ![]() Now everything is back in its place ready for tomorrow ![]() ![]() Here is a close up of the new lables I made ![]() Well enjoy I love seeing everyone eles kits it makes me inspired to keep mine all labled and always looking for the next best thing to carry my stuff around in ![]() Mar 21 07 09:44 pm Link wow Mandy...you certainly are the Queen of Packing! Last night i looked at my kit before i went to bed and said to myself "I cant wait for those FACE ATELIER foundations & Cinema Secrets Palettes to arrive"...lol. Funny how Im constantly thinking about which new products to try out and how to improve my kit....Its crazy but i have a small notebook where i have a list of all of the makeup products/tools I want to buy, Im I the only one that does this? Mar 22 07 10:20 pm Link ganeshkarma wrote: I have that brush folio also I got it from IBS NY last year from a cosmetic company out of BC (can't think of name). I loved it but it open's so wide at alot of locations I didn't have enough room but it's great for organization and holds alot of brushes plus the velcro storage bags. It's also a bit heavy. Faith Mar 23 07 01:07 am Link Faith, I got mine either from Larchmont Beauty in West Hollywood or Cinema Secrets in Burbank. I don't know if Larchmont Beauty ships, but Cinema Secrets does. Mar 23 07 01:11 am Link rachelrose wrote: Cool, thanks Rachel! Mar 23 07 01:25 am Link Vik, I got my Brush Folio case from a studio here in miami of a local makeup artist. I had looked for it online before- but no luck finding it...I must admit that when I saw it at the makeup studio , I immediately went ga-ga for it and paid $65 - well a little less that is- with a small discount that i recived for it...But it was well worth it! I can now keep my brushes well organized and use the side compartments (which are small vinyl pouches- Velcro detachable) for Qtips, Disposable Lipstick/mascara wands, my Shu Uemura Eyelash curlers, pencil sharpeners, mascaras/liquid liners, lipliners/eyeliner pencils, etc. I dont really think it weights much- I always carry it in one hand while pulling the train case with the other...and it works just GREAT (for me). **Not to mention- everyone at the shoots think it looks cool and very professional** Mar 23 07 08:58 am Link I finally took the time to take pictures of my kit....Here it goes, and this will be my 1st post. I'm such a newbie...can't seem to get how to post the pictures. Any help would be appericated. But check out my kit in my profileuntil I get the hang of this.
