It just looks a bit creepy to me... Where I think you truly excel is with your fashion nudes: 18+ You have a great fashion figure, and then you have incredible poses. Hmm, I'm willing to give this a shot. Could you pretty please tell me what you think? Note I just recently got back to Model Mayhem, even though I have been doing modeling for the past three years. Most of that modeling was BDSM and Fetish for Private collections, but I do have a few new photos I have added from shoots in those years. Please tell me what you think?

I honestly had an entirely different impression of you from that photo than when I opened up your portfolio. I really love this: Listed. This is super sexy. I love that little bit of tease: 18+ https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 4103a9.jpg Don't like the added grain in the photo, but that's just me. I feel like if you're going to bare your breast, it should be for a fantastic photo. 18+ https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … b6b03e.jpg This is a snapshot. It's not a fantastic photo.

Usually, people look like this after they have been throwing around powder paint. Those photos are awesome. This just looks like the aftermath... Which is much less awesome. Especially since it looks like a cellphone snapshot. Nice and bright, cute smile: Bad angle, but whatevs You have been on the site for two years and most of your photos are from one photographer...it's time to branch out.

The middle photo I actually have no desire to have in my portfolio, but until I shoot another llama it's only staying so I don't have 1 llama in my port. I appreciate the honesty though Hopefully after a couple more shoots I'll have better experience and better port! Glad to hear it. It reads much better now. Good luck!

Theik Smith Photography wrote: Hi there - I'd LOVE to have an honest critique of my portfolio so far. I love your analysis and your eye! Awesome port, too! Thank you, thank you! Nude art self portrait... 18 https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 58591c.jpg I don't get it. If she took the photo, why is it in your portfolio? If you took the photo, why do you say it's a self portrait? This has a good question associated with it: 18 https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 2e9213.jpg "What's Your Focus" I was going to ask that same question. Honestly, my eye goes to the tag on the back of the shirt. I'm guessing that's not the focus you were aiming for. Why the gun? It feels tacked on an unnecessary. In your profile you say that "I'm a portraitist at heart: I like figuring out what makes people tick, and I like capturing that moment in front of my lens, that moment where you see what makes them that one unique snowflake - no matter what Tyler Durden says." I'm honestly not seeing it. I see a lot of photos with people as subjects, but I'm not seeing what makes them individuals. I would do some soul searching and then also maybe start looking at more photographers' work. You show some talent, but I don't feel like you have quite taken that step from "taking photos" to a being a "photographer." Bring out the life! This is my favorite in your portfolio: 18 https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 04ae2d.jpg between the lighting, the composition, and the gorgeous model, you actually kinda have something. I'm pushing you because I think you can do it.

It's clear that you know what you are doing and I would have no problem with you being on a shoot with me. I would, however, like to see what you can do that's just artistic and creative. Smokey eyes and natural looks are great and all, but let's see what you can really do! Currently, there is this one example: I can't help but feel like it looks like she has a weird skin disease.... This is awesome:

Rist Photography wrote: Oh man, that's a loaded question. I think a lot. Here's what I think of your port though... I think you have some awesome stuff, like this: https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 06eec6.jpg and some mediocre stuff like this: https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … f6357c.jpg Instagram should not be an editing tool. and you have a couple photos which just aren't very good at all. https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 4919c5.jpg I would love to see more cute and fun stuff like this from you: https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 100b94.jpg Bunnies! There was no question mark so it can't be a loaded question, but at least you understood that I wanted to know what you think about my portfolio specifically so I'm glad that I wasn't terribly vague or anything. Yay context. Your response was actually less than I expected. A pleasant surprise. Thanks so much for the feedback. (: I think instagram is wonderful but that is clearly not instagrammed as it would be a square if it were. I can understand why you wouldn't like that editing style and why it would be offputting to some, but I personally like that aesthetic. Looks like everyone's hating on the red coat photo, I guess its deletion is overdue annnd I just got rid of it. Thanks for finally making that happen. More cutesy stuff coming soon, hopefully. Weeee!

Thanks for seeing my age error, I changed my age because I will be 17 soon and didnt know it was in more than one place. I have dance pictures but I really dislike them and I dont think they are good enough to put into a portfolio. I am trying to set up a dance shoot focusing mainly on Flamenco. What style modeling do you think I should concentrate on? I have done pretty much only beauty, runway and hairshows so far but I want to try a little bit of everything so I know what style is best for me.

C A T H Y wrote: I swear I did not squint at all in any of the photos you posted. It just seems like it because sometimes my eyes looks really small since chinese girls do have small eyes you know. Sometimes, I use very little eye makeup so my eyes look smaller in some photos than others. Depending on the angle the photo was shot. Btw, did you really think saying that I look drunk(Which I clearly do not, I dont even drink) in a photo would help me at all? Thanks for nothing. People like you just want belittle others to stroke your own ego. Did you actually read any of my critiques before you posted in here? I say what I think. On the very first page I say that I will tell people I think their work is crap if I think it is crap. If I think it is awesome I would say it's awesome. You are very clearly squinting because I displayed two photos side by side and in one you're squinting, in the other you're not. I'm well aware that Chinese girls have small eyes. My girlfriend of 5 years was Chinese. However, there is still a huge difference between. You squinting and keeping them open. And yes, you should know that awkwardly leaning up against a tree makes you look drunk. I don't honestly care if you see it that way or not. If I see it, I guarantee other people see it too. That's the whole point of asking someone for a critique, to get someone else's perspective. I'm sorry that you didn't get the ego stroking you were looking for. If I really wanted to belittle you, I would be downright mean and make assumptions about you and go off of that. But I don't, and so I didn't. I stuck to facts. Next time, when you ask for someone's honest opinion, keep in mind that you might not like the what they have to say.
