I would love your thoughts on my recent avatar. Lila Blue is from Orlando FL. She has only been shooting slightly over a month.

Checked out Lila Blue's image... nice shot... that girl has a knockdown beautiful face!... Different angles of her may turn out even more appealing... if you know what I mean...

I have been thinking of doing a shot that is darker, but still "fashion". More subdued.

Time for another 'avatar switch-a-roonie'... back to the dark forest on June 24th. This model caused a small motorcycle accident when she crossed the street and walked into the Mt Baldy Lodge restaurant...

There's a Speedlite Camera left set at approx a stop brighter than the ambient around the Model. At first I thought a sync speed issue but in post noted the shadow was limited to the dress, not the entire frame. The only explanation I have is the light may be pointing a little too far to the right. It's an odd shadow for sure but the Model was quite animated, moved around a lot and the shadow is not seen in any subsequent shots. I think by raising the dress She simply moved out of the light. ^ perhaps I'll use this one instead.

If you look at the ground and the handrail on the left side of the model... you will see that they are somewhat darker then the ground and handrail on the right side...

Zing! GREAT choice for the Avatar, the white of the dress and the pose really make it a standout.

Just under the vent is a video camera. Watching both myself and EmmyL thru that camera on that upper deck is the ship's security officer. During the formal dinner a few hours later, that security officer paid us a visit to the captain's table where me, Emmy, the captain and several others were dining. The officer said to me and Emmy: 'that was quite an entertaining photoshoot show you two put on at the upper deck this afternoon... I'd recognize that white dress anywhere'. Me and Emmy looked at each other with a puzzling look. I told the security officer: 'I could have swarn that we were the only 2 up there'. He said: You were indeed, but our survailence camera caught your every move.'

Select Models wrote: A near miss?... were you a meteor flyin close by Earth?... Explain! I was shooting in a National Park in NSW, and the model and I were walking to the location. We encountered a park ranger and some workers, and asked casually if they'd been doing track maintenance, etc. he said "No, we just put in some concealed cameras to stop people stealing bush rock (common garden feature here in Oz) and dumping rubbish illigally." Right around the area we were going to shoot. We relocated...this was the result of the new location. https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 093fec.jpg

Set out to do a shoot with this particular shot in mind. Wanted to play with silhouette and it turned out well so I was pleased, and now have a positive association with the shot and decided to set it as my avatar. Always fun shooting on film and being uncertain if a shot turned out, and then pleasantly surprised with the results.
