I have seen models who I emailed, and say there not shooting, but when you see them on someone elses page they like lets shoot agains sometime. Then you'll email them, they want to shot you a line of shit, as if they think there smart enough to know they haven't bullshitted anyone, knowing there just hurting themselves. Then they  are only doing  paid assignments but dont have much experience, maybe a in 1 or 2 publications and say I want to be paid. There are many more models who are much more experienced then you who deserve to be paid!!

Bitter much? So ignore the model who's giving you a line of crap, and find one of the better more experienced models and pay them. Somethings are only learned the hard way.

Ok, one, calm the fuck down.  You pull that kind of attitude when you contact models and there's no way you'll find one who wants to shoot with you, no matter how much money you're waving at them.

Two, "GWC" isn't a good term, it's a bad one.  That could be the reason you're having trouble finding models to work with you.  Have the moderators change your title to "Photographer".

Three, models have every right to turn down work (TF* or paid) from whomever they wish.  As do photographers, and MUAs, and everyone else here on the site.  It's their right.  You have three :refraining from unsolicited critique: images up in your profile (which is, by the way, less than the required amount of 4).  That's likely not enough evidence that a trade would be worthwhile for a model.

Four, checking references is a great idea, but no one is required to tell you if a job was paid or what the job paid.  That's private information discussed between the negotiating parties only.  I've never shared that info with another model, photographer or MUA, and I never will.

And five... this thread will likely not end well.

You want straight up?  Take your shit to the critique forum.  Post a thread there.  I'm sure models would give you their honest, no bullshit, opinions there.

I know I would.

Any appropriate comment would be a bannable offense for feeding the troll. Do you really want models to reply...

"I'm sorry I only shoot with talented photographers that will contribute positively to my portfolio. For images that would actually hurt my portfolio I charge enough to either discourage the shoot or make it financially viable enough to accept so that I don't care the photos disappear into oblivion once I'm paid."

It's called tact and professionalism...something you really could...(never mind, there's that fine line again).

If you are truly interested in getting a more positive response from models you should try soliciting a critique in the critique forum.

My friend, you haven't been here too long so I'll try to give you a bit of the benefit of the doubt. I am NOT critiqueing your portfolio, but who the heck are you to be huffing and puffing like this with 3 images in your port, little verbiage in your descriptive section, and Tyler as your one and only friend?

You think this post is gonna get them to line up to work with you, paid OR unpaid?

If so, I wish you the best of luck!

It could be the quality of model you're contacting.  Anyone can SAY they're a professional.  Being a professional is more about how you conduct yourself than about how much experience you have, how much you get paid, or how often you shoot.

Or, it could be... something else.

So you'd rather hear:

"Sorry, your work blows and your attitude sucks.  I wouldn't work with you if you paid me $1000 an hour."

Than:

"Thanks for the interest, but I'm not looking to shoot the style you have in your portfolio right now."
