Pieter Vandeur wrote: In response to your new question: To me, the pic is an addition to your port. I even kinda like the extremely smooth finish on it. I don't like the PS-fooling around in your neck, though. For me, that's truly too artificial. Your port: I'm doubting between two images. - https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/12270295 : There's a colour issue with your skin here. Too yellow-ish and the combination with the colour of your lips doesn't work for me. I would like the pic very much if the colour would be a bit adapted/more natural - https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/20449763 : styling-wise, I think, this is slightly strange. For me, there's too much going on: you have the stripes in the bikini, the lace in the panties, the scarf, the mug.... It's a bit too much and busy for a simple guy like me... :-) Thanks! That helps! You: You have an extremely strong port! I really can't pin point one that actually has anything wrong with it, but I guess this one is your weakest. I love the artistic nature of it, but it's harder to see the model and the concept and execution isn't as strong as the rest of your port... barely.

Just because I have to choose one to go. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/15319315 You should have not much difficulty finding a great pose showing the Tatoo. Thanks! You: This isn't terrible or anything, I just feel this is an unfinished pose and it doesn't really flatter the model. Plus with a primarily butt related shot I think it should be a thong. The hair up is a weird choice and her expression doesn't match the pose.

Do you think it will benefit my book? yes. P.S.: I don't like this image: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/11084557 An interesting (still, not very fresh) idea, but you're MUCH better than that. Does not look right or funny, and could rather benefit only a photographer/a retoucher, not a model.

Could be used as an artistic shot, a casual shot, cover of a book or even a promo photo for a horror or drama movie. I don't like the crop at all, though. Also, something about the angle of her arm makes it look like she has a retarded shaped forearm and wrist. Too much light blowing out the crown of her hair and her face could be a bit more visible and clear

Many people read profiles and will see it, but NO ONE seems to read the captions on the pictures in the actual book! See, I didn't know you do that! As far as other weak images... I am super flattered you even care about my opinion, haha! I really like this because it's a close up of your pretty face, but I feel the shadows are a little too strong. I wouldn't get rid of it though unless you have a stronger beauty shot or a cool headshot. Your work is cool. It's very diverse and artistic. Thank you for the compliment, and I must agree with your choice on the 2nd weakest.. I love my eyes in that shot but the shadows are too harsh. Will work on getting a better headshot and/or beauty shot* Thanks again for your feedback!!

thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review, Tara! Really appreciate it. I gonna fix my blunders you pointed out at, later. Thanks again. TARA BABCOCK wrote: Love the concept. Do you think it will benefit my book? Normally I hate the whole plastic barbie look on photos, but it works for this because you legitimately look like a barbie. haha I love the makeup and I think it works well as an avi. You're freakin gorgeous, by the way.

The idea of the image is to combine high-end clean beauty photography (and the post processing is perfect for that) with "Barbie Loves M.A.C." and I think we pulled it off superbly. See, the only thing I don't like about "fake" or "over processed" images is if it: a) looks amateur or b) they misrepresent the model by changing facial features or body proportions using Liquify. Neither of those I do. If someone is worried about me showing up as a 200 lbs. big-nosed pimple freak they can view my profile and see unretouched images of me with and without make-up. I don't know why anyone is so distressed over artistic or glamour images being fantastical... we are models, to the general public we should look more perfect and more glamorous than the next pretty girl in order to sell products. The only person who should be worried about "realness" is the client who hires us. I have that what-you-see-is-what-you-get factor and I have no problems with any of that. You: To me, this is just not flattering. Your beauty is hidden behind a forced double chin and the concept is lost in slightly blown out black and white. Also, why would a vampire be wearing a lacy Hollister tank top? It's just not as stunning as the rest of your work.

In my opinion I feel that the image is kind of confusing at first glance. Other than that, I really like it! Strong book!

Its just that I think you have better in your portfolio. It is a good shot, just not my favorite. And thanks for your critique of my image, I do see what you mean, and I am actually considering pulling that one for a better shot.
