I am fairly new, quite amateur, and looking to find the right niche of freelance modeling for me until I live on my own (off of a day job) after finishing university~

I would love your critique, seeing as they are thoughtful and may lead me to a solution (:

I'll be deleting a few images in my clustered profile starting... now!

Thank you big_smile

OK so I actually clicked on all of your photos and few observations
This looks fabulous https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131009/21/52562b4d8367c_m.jpg but the other ones in the series are a bit more photoshopped and don't appear as good as this one, which is a bit in contradiction with what you said in bio "I try to edit as little as possible, focusing on getting the shot as perfect as I can first time around, "
I find you very courageous in tackling some genres I wouldn't touch.
I find this very interesting and nicely done https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131019/15/526303939b12b_m.jpg
some of your crops are not creating the feel you want like this one https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131009/21/525626ba50465_m.jpg
Like the story in this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130925/00/5242964eb833d_m.jpg even if don't like the cropping much
I like your take on the "sexy" https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130923/06/5240474cc7f5c_m.jpg very much approved wink especially this one https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130731/17/51f9ae359b92e_m.jpg crowned by some great concepts like this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130923/06/524045d01ace9_m.jpg.
Good job over all; watch model composure expression, cropping and try to implement some hdr in your outdoor shoots because in some of them like this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131019/15/52630442ee729_m.jpg half the photo doesn't look good. Also try better to manage your negative space.

good luck to you, welcome to my index smile

Thank you! I really appreciate the tips and kind words about my work. (I agree that the fae set look a little over done, that's me learning to use the editing programs, I think I did a bit better with the river nymph shoot) I very much appreciate the time you took having a look at my stuff.
Have a lovely day.

Id appreciate your opinion!

Try to associate yourself with a brand, like from what I see you like surfing but don't stand next to the surfboard but hold it do something with it show the brand and create mock pictures that could be used in advertising. You have the look but must show more confidence and learn from other male models. some romantic  couple shots wouldn't hurt either. Some dirty mechanic looks, or sports clothing looks like tennis etc could be added to your port as well. Those are my visions, yours will vary. Get a commercial photographer and meet designers if you can. Good luck because you have some tough competition and rude awakenings waiting to happen.

Thank you big_smile

You look lovely! and humble. So, you will go places wink unlike many, (that brag about themselves and nothing to show for big_smile )

Anyway let's see. make sure that clothing color and photographer perspective doesn't make you appear like those chubby looking legs in this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131019/19/5263454224d75_m.jpg
it is the pose and perspective angle. A slight turn showing more of the bag and twisting the leg such as one thigh hiding the other would look more playful and better. (but that is not your fault) that patterned pantyhose is also makes you look chubby in that picture.
Your best pose https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130905/10/5228bfc262cd6_m.jpg but the photo is a  miss because the reflection of light and loss of detail on your shirt and your body outline.
Nicely done https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130806/00/52009fb18693f_m.jpg as I can see your happiness which helps in modeling.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130718/00/51e79b64b7efd_m.jpg your hand position should be avoided from this angle, as this pic looks as if you were in pain. the wrong drama.
Delete https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/33229284
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32876073 awful

in this picture it is a crime to crop your legs https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130624/10/51c887e87b0d2_m.jpg otherwise a perfect shot.

It would have been a blast to shoot you, you have so much potential. Don't waste your time with wannabes photographers, pick them carefully to build your portfolio.
Good luck to you, wink

Anyway, I wish to see you to perform your modeling all in confidence and become the subject not the object. Good luck.

I read your bio and the part on light you wrote about  looks like still work in progress.
I haven't found any particular striking image to list but this one shows the best of you https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/121201/21/50bae0cef3881_m.jpg

The fashion part of the port looks better then art and edgy style
in  this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131015/17/525dd7e9d929f_m.jpg the best one is on top and the worst second row right side where you lose all detail of the dress. The pinkish orange tint on last row on right seamless paper  is very bothering and almost shares the same flesh tones of the model.
and edgy style you want to paint in this
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32000331 is a miss. Why because in order to be edgy cropping photos on body parts is not enough. That particular photo has 3 unrelated body parts that can not be even found as attractive from angles that was shot, and what a sharp idea of showing wool knit stockings.
wool is anti glamor, try nylon next time.

I find the beauty dish reflections https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27640749 in eye glasses as a major distraction if not en eye sore because they are uneven centered or aligned on eye glasses
The hues on those
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30543475
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31682123
appear to me as a tacky idea or clumsy experiment at best.
I am not so much crazy about your studio portrait lighting
from the subjects eye pupil reflections below
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32000342
and https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27640924
I can tell that with 3 light sources you managed to provide monotonous flat light

In Outdoor shots https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130830/22/5221798c4f3bc_m.jpg where you experience strong sunny conditions, you need to filter the direct light and cropping on shoes and ankles are not a good idea even for collage panels.
your single light source black and white art photo appear good but perceived very abstract. The human head on table  is hardly noticeable.
Finally you nailed this one https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131016/01/525e50c80c53f_m.jpg
your best and my fav.
Good luck to you.

If you think that I limit my style to what you see in my port, you are wrong.
No good photographer in his right mind would lock himself in with a particular style.
If you do, then you stagnate in this craft.

Welcome to mayhem. your port seem to be brand new and certainly incomplete and looks like geared more towards lingerie and beauty style at this time. At 4' 11" there isn't much opportunity in catwalk and high fashion but I bet you can do well in fetish alternative or boudoir pinup genres.
I recommend you to shoot with as many photographers as possible.

Latest graveyard work looks good, with some clumsy post work like fading of details on some thumb stones and monuments but it is a breakout from the "business as usual".  I would probably do this kind of work in high contrast black and white rather then in color personally, to make it more sinister and lugubrious, anyway your takes look quite fun the way it was captured rather then being sinister. Colors could be made less saturated on beauty and outdoor work.
this is cool and your best https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/131016/09/525eb81562600_m.jpg I like the model connection and light, however the other frames in the same series with same model are not as good.
in this https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130911/21/52313ead65c5e_m.jpgdon't like the added noise.
Outdoor shots are nice but again colors in some of them appears unnatural
again noisy style doesn't make a 70 ies shot  https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/33573646 +18

shallow  depth of field does a disservice to you in general as the effect you are desperately seeking is not there because  either that doesn't apply to the genre you are shooting or you are really thrown off by your glass' specifications or misusing it vis a vis the context.
I like your  attempt to diversify your themes but it falls short of as a misguided feeling in general.
Keep clicking to improve your artificial lighting and manage better your model's pose and venture to your wild side after mastering the standard techniques.
Good luck in your endeavors
