Still designing and redesigning mine. Would love an opinion on this one.

The grey circles will be a spot uv print job, with I'm thinking of maybe having the logo be foil stamping in silver. Text too but I'm not sure if that will be cheezy or not.

Jay-Sayt?

Anyway! I think adding stickers would be better, that way it will be like "yaaay, I have a full palette, now I get a discount!"

Hahah! Ya you got it right!! You are I think the first person who got the pronounciation right by reading it.

i don't love the idea of foil stamping the logo/text. Especially if you are going to be doing a spot uv print  on the dots. My feeling is that foiling is quite traditional and uv spot printing is a little more contemporary. i stay stick with the uv spot printing and just make sure it's a great matte, bright white, heavy weight paper so the white is clean and gorgeous. i would also consider a rounded corner die cut. Not super round just a little bit. i like that it's vertical instead of horizontal. i love vertical cards.

(my old office job was production supervisor at a print shop. i've seen a lot of business cards!)

Ya I'm thinking ixnay on the foil stamp. The uv spot will be more interesting and unique I think.

Hello! I hope I'm welcome to comment. If not, I'll leave a comment still! LOL.

I love the cards of the three Vanessa's (Perez, Melanson, & Melgar). I love the one with the future Helvetica too. big_smile I like really clean and/or fun cards!

Hehehehe yaayyyy!!!

Love that design too!

Sarah, you already know I love #3 big_smile

Here's what I ended up getting on my last order... The detail in the brown ones was too small so I went with this, it still matches the feel of my site so I'm happy.

It's the same on the back but with my contact details in the black strip. Satin finish.

This is my card until I run out of them! Haha. The back is blank so that I may write something down if I have to.

This is the same card that I've had since I've started...the typeface has changed, but I keep it because people remember the lips-even from years ago (and they are mine):
https://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i79/pkittie/8-08-1.jpg

It used to be on a thin card stock that almost was like plastic + very durable (but you could only write on it with sharpie, no pens), but now it's on a really heavy thick card stock (I can only put 4 in my wallet at a time), glossy on the front, matte on the back (to write on). I used to have the lips with a raised glossy ink (so it looked like lipstick), but this current printer didn't have a color that I liked, and they are so inexpensive (1000 for $50).

Boring is actually kind of good. I'm shocked at how busy all the cards are in here! Professional cards are simple and clean. That doesn't mean they have to be totally without personality - just clean and concise (and usually lacking crazy text and graphics and loads of photos).

A classy, clean card says 'my work is amazing and I don't need to sell it with a flashy card. Also, I'm a professional and I know my ish!'

This is brand new and not yet printed, but I love the design. The concept was mine, but design credit goes to my friend Dan, with whom I am trading work:

Not printed yet but it's pretty much the same format as my styling card:

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/lovesponge/bc.jpg

front is matte with glossy letters, back is glossy

(the color is more like a bright coral color but it looks red here for some reason)

I get mine from Overnightprints.com.  Everyone has their loves/hates with different business card companies but so far I've been pleased and had to reorder last week!

Overnightprints here as well. I always get compliments on the card stock, and they're so inexpensive.
Here's a funny one: last time IO had to reorder I got double the quantity I ordered. Free of charge. I don't know if they messed up or what, but I was never charged for them. Epic Win!

I used overnight prints too for my styling cards.  I only used them because they're cheap and I'm broke lol, but the quality is really good.

They messed up my first batch (the glossy lettering was ever so slightly off-register) but they printed up a new set and shipped them to me overnight, free of charge.

+1

I think the simple cards are much more elegant and professional looking. What probably bothers me most is when people use simple fonts from Microsoft Office. I think downloading a special font (even a simple one, not necessarily a fancy one) can really go a LONG way and make it look like you didn't just make the card in Microsoft Paint.

I don't know, maybe I'm just a geek, but it's always been a HUGE pet peeve of mine. smile

Heh, I was mulling that over. At least it's harder to farm info from an image than from text, but I'm gonna go blur it out anyway.

Considering neither my website nor domain email address are active yet, spammers are likely to be frustrated anyway :-D
