13. You should (should meaning not unless you were the one who did the digital art )post with your entry what medium (software used) and how you processed the artwork (example : Photo, new background, Painted etc, or Oil painted, photoshop etc.). If you do not post how you processed it (steps taken) and the medium, you could if we cannot tell what was done or it does not look like digital art to either Dave Or myself  it will be disqualified. Mua's ,photographers ,models who had nothing to do with the digital art process please be aware if we cannot tell what has been done , in other words if it looks right out of camera or is a photo montage we will Dq you . But you personally do not have to put up what was done since you would not know if you hired someone to do the work .
THE EXPLANATION OF HOW THE IMAGE IS PROCESSED IS A VITAL PART OF THIS CONTEST IF WE CANNOT TELL WHAT WAS DONE.

Model shot in studio. Adjusted to proper levels in Lightroom. Uploaded to Photoshop. Removed from plain white background and placed in current background bought at renderosity.com. Played with fill in a new layer. Played with color in a new layer. Hair was fixed. Put model image through Portrait Pro 12 to fix imperfections. Uploaded to Perfect Effects 9 where I gave it a harsh HDR look. Backed off the HDR and smoothed out the model a bit. Added detail to the model's eye. Took a break to take medications crushed up in sugar-free pudding, drank a strawberry protein drink, then some hot tea to help with nausea. Took a 5 hour nap. Re-opened in Photoshop and added the VOP symbol.

or we can promote seperatism and discriminate in a place that should promote art.......I am not gonna do a 20 page argument over this like we did originally......we got hit with a lot of complaints last time about being unfair....do what you want it's your contest.....I am content to watch the same people win over and over because we keep others out....i do not care.....also take away my win if you need to if it means so much....i'm very offended by this entire conversation......do...what...you...want.......

13. If we cannot tell what you did to a photo in other words if it looks strait out of camera or a plain photo montage it will be d'qed period .

there , please guys can we all just get along and I am sorry , I forgot that was an issue before because yes models, mua's some photographers who did not do the digital work do not know , so I have changed the rule with the effect that if we cannot tell it is painted , changed etc we will ask the person to elaborate if they cannot tell us if it looks like it is not then it will just be taken out of the contest simple as that . okay . please guys , I love you both and there is no reason to argue , if you wish to be mad be mad at me , I am the one who brought it back not thinking , I am sorry , I have been critically ill for a month now . I do not like seeing you guys at each others throats , it is not worth it .

I am sorry to both you Chris and Dave , it is my fault you are bickering .

Also I am going to be adding more rules as to credits , people that did not do the digital work need to give credit to whomever did do the work . So this rule is going to go up asap .

this way if we have an issue we can contact whomever did do it .

This will solve the issue and anyhow people should give credit where credit is due . Not to say you chris as you always give credit and as do you Dave but some folks do not ...

Thanks and again very sorry you guys got into a spat please make up , love you both ! XX

Uploaded to Perfect Effects 9 where I gave it an HDR look. Backed off the HDR and smoothed out the model a bit. Added detail to the model's eye.  Re-opened in Photoshop and added the VOP symbol. model was shot on carpet(one of those last minute unplanned things) removed from background . Used pool footage i took last year put her in and dropped opacity to half blended into the water then cut out head and neck section from original and placed it over the submerged body so she looked like she was really in water with her face out, blended it together . used a smoke /fog overlay in places and some color changes to give the effect of floating in river water , added salt and pepper no wait wrong recipe. A few later color adjustments all done in ps

Okay so the last few days not one person has really entered , well as sick as I am if this goes on I am going to stop hosting . I am far too sick to deal with that kind of stuff ...But I am sorry I have not been here for you guys a lot , I am usually on time but things have not been good for me mentally and physically . I am sorry . Just get the need to let you guys know why I have been behind

I would like to see more participation and I will give it a couple weeks before I give up completely . The thing is I enjoy this little contest because I get too see my colleagues art and it is fun . That is all , thanks !

One of the things that dissuades me from entering is I can no longer figure out days/times for entry and for voting.  Since not-voting means DQ I try not to enter unless I'm certain I can also vote in that contest.  I can only feel certain if I know when voting is.  Also, my work often feels far inferior to some of the other entries, so I usually won't waste my time on days the competition is so high. tongue

That is why I am thinking one contest a week.  I haven't read all of the weekly contests in a while, but enter Mon through Thur. Vote Fri through Sun.... much simpler...

18+ blood

model shot in studio with blood on hand.  Digitally added butterflies using filter.  Layered and created hand-less background where needed to remove fingers where butterflies had flown.  Changed colors/tones/light for dark and scary overall feel.

Model was shot at Comic-Con, later extracted from very busy background in Photoshop, where several corrections tweaks were made to her appearance, including painting additional hair texture on matte edges for more realistic integration. Background was shot on location, later extended and enhanced in Photoshop, where light effects and textures were added, including some cloning/warping to extend staircase. Magical sparks and glows painted by hand in Photoshop. Significant color and clean-up work done after everything was composted together to unify color palette and create a gothic golden tone -- all motivated by the Spider Witch's conjuring!

I'm so confused on the times LOL  If everyone votes today by 9:pm mm/pacific time, I will close the contest tonight. If not then I will close the contest Sunday night at 9:pm mm/pacific time.

Remember voting is required!
I will not enforce Rule #13

Thx
Dave

PS: I will be hosting next week. Contests are Mon. Wed. Fri.   Meaning they close Mon. Wed. Fri. at Midnight Eastern Time.  9:pm MM/Pacific.  Entry opens at the drop of the previous contests closing banner.
