It's only arty if it's a black and white photo. You do know that, right?

From what I can see on the last posts some aren´t at all interested about the topic. Not being interested in stats is no excuse for destroying the thread for others.

Welcome to MM. Since you have only been here for a bit, you may not have noticed how things repeat endlessly.

There are several topics that pop up every so often, go round and round endlessly, go away and then return.

This is one of them. There has not been any benefit to "serious" discussion, all we learn is that some people like things the way they like them and others prefer a different way. Then the thread goes away and a new one appears with the same results. Sometimes people lose their shit and self-destruct, sometimes the thread gets derailed, it makes no difference.

Add - Escorts - Should Any Body Be Paid and How Much - So and So Flaked - EVERYBODY Flakes and It Is All Their Fault - Nobody Responds To My Messages - I Didn't Get Any Photos - Which is Better Pseudo Fashion or Clown Midget Unicycle Tightrope Porn - Is This a Scam - Tatoos and Why They are Good/Bad, etc. and you will pretty much have it covered.

Just a few of us old-schoolers trying to have some fun in an otherwise dreary and meaningless boondoggle, to be honest.

Blablablablaaaaaa

Good to know. Then hopefully models have created a list of childish photographers, non interested photographers, unserious photographers, oversexual photographers, alarm flag photographers and of course the same lists to models that encourage "off topic" junk.

In the beginning of the thread someone asked why very few models care about theese threads anymore. I guess it is easy to understand why. Just a pitty that noone on MM cut them of the thread or forum until they learn how to behave.

Ah, I missed one!!!

The "List All The Bad People" thread. There have been dozens, possibly hundreds. Some say yes, some say no, some say why and some say because. In the end, every one goes away frustrated and pipes in again the next time.

Have you seen the movie Groundhog Day? It is just like that only worse.

Nothing will ever be done about any of this stuff. The company that owns MM needs forum traffic to sell advertising. So, the more pointless, endless threads the better.

Today was just a good day, Dea and the Beast led the way to a refreshing new catharsis of total nonsense. Since nobody has anything at stake anymore, we can all relax.

I'm sorry ladies but what are we supposed to do guess your stats?
Isn't the goal here to show up in a search and get hired?
If you are serious about modeling kindly fill them in PLEASE!
Thank you

I tend to just skip past those, especially of they state they claim they want to fashion.  While it's always good to confirm if the stats are correct, it's just sloppy to not make sure your stats are on display.

If a model contacts me, I still check their stats.

So kindly inform me so that I may learn : (i promise I won't try to "spoil" the same old , as nauseum asked and breated questions for your learning experience in this most important career booster website!):

What is the point in having stats filled in, when you don't trust them in the first place and you will ask for them again?

I can't speak for everyone on this issue, but for me, the initial stats are an indicator of whether or not I can pull from a designer or if I'll need to pull from a store (and make arrangements to do so) and/or buy/make pieces outright. Even indie designers tend to cut their samples fairly small so certain measurements just aren't going to work or may only work with very specific pieces in the collection. If a photographer contacts me about a shoot then this information influences the budget because if all the garments for a shoot need to be purchased (or custom made) then that increases the rate. I ask for the stats again for two reasons: 1) there are some models who don't update them (and the reality is there are a number of reasons why this could happen, in some cases it's just a matter of their bodies not looking any different to them, this is especially true in weight gain and loss), and 2) there are some models who never had the correct information to begin with (true story I've had several models tell me that their listed stats were placeholder numbers).

Members have been complaining about this topic since I have been here - 2006. Nothing has changed, nothing.

The only thing we can do is to feel sorry for them when they embarass themselves and report it to the moderator. Also, reflect on those really being serious photographers and models and treat them with the respect they earn.

I do not deny that I am a friend of stats. At my age I can absolutely be proud of my unique stats. So much that I wrote about it on my website yesterday and left them out official with arguments for why they can be of importance even for younger models than me. Especially for those understanding the concept of a whole overall picture.

First of all, your ad hominem argument does nothing to address the fact that there are models (and photographers, and stylists etc.) who sign up for this site on a regular basis which means that there are people who aren't as seasoned or as cynical so (much like fashion) topics and trends are going to repeat themselves. In these instances you have the choice to a) ignore it, b) offer what input you can. or c) make excuses and/or otherwise act like a jerk because you somehow feel entitled to do so based on reasons like how long you've been doing whatever it is you've been doing or because you're bored or you think things can't change or whatever. The thing is though is that none of those things is going to stop people from asking questions (or complaining about issues that may be new to them), but at least one of them, is actively unhelpful because it may discourage newer members from asking questions or even making any attempt to do things in a manner that's even partially professional.

Second, you're not paying to play either so you there's a possibility that you realize what I did when the premium accounts were introduced which is that while they may be nice for some people that they're not a necessity.

Very understandable! I had professionals measure some of mine. I try to keep them all updated which is also an indicator of keeping in shape. At my age the overall picture of the measurements are important. Also it is easier since giving birth, hormons and growth are taken to different levels. But as you probably know the conversion tool here on MM acts strange sometimes and people measure different so I have had my own solution to it in my portfolio and on my website. It would have been handy if MM could have such a picture to refer to for stats so I didn´t have to use space for it in my portfolio (now beeing moved to weblink outside portfolio) where I should have a picture of myself.

Talking about the people who are talking to the wall does not change that you are talking to a wall.

It is frustrating talking to a wall, I know exactly how you feel as I seem to be doing it myself with this post.

I believe if a Model is looking to do any type of Fashion or Apparel modeling she would show her measurements. I know that If I am shooting fashion work for a client, they usually have a specific size in mind and their outfit are built accordingly. So, for me I only focus on those who provide measurements.

Outside of that, I believe as long as their portfolio clearly shows their size and shape then it's workable.
