I think breast implants are over blown.

Fatty tissue relocation is far better, more natural and a great deal safer.

I'm no photographer or a woman who's had the operation but being a man with appreciation for such things I figure my opinion might contribute a bit.
I've seen some great jobs and some pretty horrid jobs.
About 4/5 of each job I've seen were pretty well done.

The upside to them is the generally stay in place for longer periods of time and are usually proportionate to a person's body.

The downside that I've noticed is that most (Not all) fake breasts look too similar and are generally easy to spot as fake.

I find small breasts to be much more attractive than medium or large ones. I find the body of a woman with small breasts to be more sleek and graceful. But that is a personal preference. I think  women should do whatever they want with their breasts.

As an artist and a photographer, I would not be interested in a model with breast implants.  The only time they really add anything is when they are exaggerated, creating an overtly sexual image.  I am not interested in this kind of image, but it has its place.

On the positive side, if cosmetic surgery of any kind helps boost a person's confidence, it can help them get more out of life.  Confidence in front of the camera is essential.  But I would prefer that confidence to come naturally from within.

I find that it's really, REALLY easy to tell whos breasts are fake and whose are not. I have a lot of friends who've just had boob jobs and you can see the outlines of the silicone bags through the skin (eeeek!).
Even if I didn't have boobs, I'd prefer that to a boob job. Especially since you have to have them replaced every few years too!

And I'd walk around like a robot and look like an idiot, because I'd be afraid of falling over, popping one and having all the toxins run through my body.
Fake boobs are complex, scary things!

If you actually look at naked breasts "Post op" it quickly becomes apparent that many surgeons must be laughing at the results, its as if they see who can make the weirdest shape, or who can stick the nipples int he weirdest position, they probably have a slide show at the christmas party and laugh at some of the results.

The amount of topless models that have surgery and then cease topless modeling  speaks volumes.

if they work with a person.. then why not. From a photographic perspective... they are part of the individual being photographed.. does the subject suit the implant (fake looking or otherwise).. do they tell the story.. aid the story.. distract from the story in a way that you want? if yes, then they're useful.. same goes ink, piercings, hair style, make up and wardrobe.

it's about the shot and the assets in front of you.

Would I want my partner to have breast augmentation? no, not really.. I married her, not her and her silicone friends, but if it made her happy, i'd roll with it.

I had mine done in late April this year.
After 4 children including breastfeeding they had lost all shape and fullness and after a long time considering to make sure I went ahead and had the op.
I had teardrop anotomicals, kept a fairly small size(just enough to refill so back up two sizes) in under the muscle so my recovery was a little longer, but it wasnt half as bad as I had been warned previously.
No lifting, no arms above the head and so on for 6 weeks.

Personaly, I love them and my confidence level has shot up, as I have my shape back for the first time in about 10 years..its made a big change, bigger than I thought it would have had..

Yes, some photographers dont like them and wouldnt consider working with me because if it, and thats fine, weirdly although I thought I would get less work with them I have had more offers(decent ones too) since the first new topless shots went up.

I shot with a model 2 years ago from Houston Tx that had the Fatty Tissue Relocation and she has permanent Knots on her back and beside her left breast from where the Dr Goofed on this Safer Surgery.

Its none of my business overall whether a woman gets breast implants.

All I can do is HOPE they are doing it for the right reasons & heavily research the subject & make a decision based on what's best for THEM.

That carries its own set of complications. Namely peoples weight fluctuates & w/ it a lot of times loses the relocated fat tissue.

I know MANY MANY models who have had this operation done.  I shot them before AND after.  I ALWAYS ALWAYS tell them - DONT GET TRIPLE D's FOR PETES SAKE!   There is one fitness model getting implants very soon.  She's shorter and has a KILLER ROCK HARD body.  She's getting small C's and when they're done I'm sure they'll look great!

GET BREASTS NOT "ORBS"  (i've seen some that just look WAY too big and appear more as orbs than breasts.........)

I don't like the idea of knowing that I'm not all real and natural.

I've just seen way too many at this point and can almost spot them immediately, although there are exceptions.

I was watching Boardwalk Empire and spotted them on Buscemi's squeeze and it immediately broke the 4th wall.  They didn't do implant surgery in the 20's... I don't think.

Oops... I was wrong... They have actually been done since 1895... Wild!

Yet, they're still being done badly??  Yikes!

1. They have no idea if the fatty tissue relocation will deposit properly.
2. its is not safer at all
3. the breast can be lumpy, malformed and the fat deposited may not even stay where it is supposed to be.

This is hilarious and obviously written by someone who knows NOTHING about implants.

The implants have saline in them, which is absorbed into the tissues.  There is not hing toxic about saline.  Its sterile.
The implants that are silicone are made of silicone memory gel.  It does not ooze out like they old kind of silicone implants.  It stays in the capsule, even if its being squeezed.  It takes A LOT of pressure to "pop one".  You cant just fall and it pop. Thats stupid.  Its not a fucking balloon.

This post made me giggle because for years people used to think my boobs were fake.

So, if I was comfortable with the person, I'd let them touch the top so they can tell they were real. lol

Yours look very nice, and very natural! I love breast implants that enhance what is naturally there. I hate the kind that look like oranges shoved under one's skin. To me, it's just unattractive. My husband and I recently watched Zombie Strippers, and the implants were so prevailant that it didn't even feel like the women were really topless. At one point, my husband just goes, "Can we stop watching this, now? I'm getting really tired of seeing Jenna Jameson's chest. Like.. really tired."

Personally, I feel sad for never studying medicine. I would have been an awesome plastic surgeon, and breast implants would have been my specialty.

I think Breasts that look look someone cut a basketball in half and used the halves for the implants look horrible.

What I find humorous is...  Many women with small Breasts want them to be larger.  While many women with large breasts have reduction surgery.

Very well said.  My wife had this done about 11 years ago after breastfeeding our two children had taken it's toll on her body.  She's always been very happy with the results, and more confident about her appearance.  She is a beautiful woman anyway, as you are, and absolutely deserves to be feel good about how she looks.  You obviously had yours done by a skilled surgeon with a keen eye for his craft, because you look wonderful smile.  If you feel good, and you feel confident, and YOU love how you look, then it was definitely a success.
To the OP, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a cosmetic procedure if it makes you feel even more sexy and self-confident.  It's your life, and you only get to live it once.  If being curvier makes you feel great then it's for you.  Photographing a girl with implants is just like photographing a girl without implants, meaning there are always optimum angles and lighting that make someone look their best.  Good luck in all you do!

Several women I know have had implants. IMO they were fixing something that wasn't broke. The outcome depends on the skill of the surgeon. One was a model I have seen nude both before and after surgery. She went from an A to a DD. She also had her nose done and in the process lost a very exotic middle eastern look and a toned gymnasts body. I thought she looked great to begin with. Hers was well done with no visible scarring.

The others were co-workers that I never saw unclothed so I can't comment on visible scars or nipple placement. One went from an A to a C. If one hadn't seen her before the implants were not obvious. Before she had the surgery we were on a business trip together and she told me she was considering implants and asked my opinion. It was a bit awkward, I told her I thought she looked great the way she was and advised her against doing it. The other co-worker had the bigger is better philosophy and really looked like she had aftermarket parts installed that defied the laws of gravity.

They all looked great before they had surgery. I really don't know their motivation for getting implants and my comment to those who choose to get them is to make sure they use a skilled plastic surgeon and don't overdo it.

My Grandmother had DDD cup and my mom DD, by the time i was 16 I was 5'4, 115 lbs with a DD cup. My gramma had back problems her entire life and ended up having not one, but two reductions. First one to a C, second one down to a B. She was happy with that. I had major back problems for the past few years, until I was lucky enough recently to lose 18 lbs by changing up my diet and exercising more. Now I am just slightly smaller and able to walk a bit better, with a small D cup. Any woman who feels uncomfortable with her own body should try whatever they can first without surgery to feel good again. If that is not possible, go to what means you must to make yourself happy, just make sure you think of consequence and risks etc. cheers smile

But come back in 20 years if and when children, age and gravity have taken its long ol toll and I would be interested to see if you felt the same way.

Another beautiful model with an augmentation who looks fantastic!  She would be gorgeous either way, but chose this way, and she is awesome.  It really comes down to finding a good surgeon who is skilled at matching your breasts to your build and not over-doing it.  Sabrina Maree looks very glamorous in her port, AND very natural.

Well, it's given me a more positive outlook on my femininity. Feeling like a boy, or a preadolescent girl from the waist up is kind of a drag on the self image. It's taken away my ability to run without a bra on smile
