I'd like to offer a heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended this shoot yesterday.  We climbed to new heights yesterday.  The models were unbelieveable.  The photographers were super tolerant and shooting like crazy.  I personally am listing this shoot as the BEST HOMEGROWN HOTTIES shoot in the history of HGH shoots. But I want to give most of the credit to my models.  Everyone got along, laughing and enjoying the day.  A Special thanks to Klover who spent her 21st birthday with us.  We can't produce shoots like this one without the amazing models that we work with.

I agree 100% and want to thank you for putting together such a fantastic event. It was a great escape from all of the doom and gloom news that we're bombarded with these days.

Ima totally crushin' on da Bunniie!!

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130107/18/50eb8770be9ae.jpg

I had to shoot with Megan just to see if she was for real and not a figment of my fanatasies. Unbelievable beauty and grace.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130107/20/50eb9a7f9fac0.jpg

Could those eyes be any bluer. Could those teeth be any a more pearlier shade of white. Guess drinkin' that Seattle coffee with a straw is paying off. (No photoshop on either)

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130107/19/50eb9291ab3de.jpg

There's a story behind the picture below and I want to use it to make a point. Kristy was snapping pics on her phone for her facebook or whatever and it looks like she was having a great time. (I think she was taking a pic of some girls butt, haha) Anyway, I went to take a candid unposed shot of her, or so I thought. I go to take the picture and she totally stops what she's doing and makes it a point to give me a great big smile and great picture. Never complained that I interrupted her personal time, never took exception at my pointing a big camera at her when she was obviously in the middle of something, never made me feel like I was an imposition. She totally stopped what she was doing to make sure I got a great shot. It's this type of unselfish act and over the top attitude that really makes me enjoy these events. And ALL the models are just as sweet. (shutup, ya know what I mean)

Photographers - pay these girls and pay them well! Make it a habit to tip, regardless. If you don't stay for the 1-on-1's, then at least pay them for the group shoot. You know you are going to use and "enjoy" the pics so buy the model release! Don't be cheap. What you consider "fun money" is what they use to pay their bills and buy the outfits, shoes and makeup which you are benefiting from. Pay them! Yes, I'm pissed. I've heard way too many horror stories of what these girls go through at the expense of the photographers. Don't be "that" photographer. Don't fool yourself into thinking that they are here because they are some directionless pretty girl wanting to get attention. True as that might be at some level with some girls, by and large the only reason the models are here is to make money, to make BANK. How would you like to go to work and not get paid? They take a huge risk in putting themselves out only to get nothing in return because you are a cheap individual. (I want to write something else but can't) They are not here to be adored, they are here to be paid. More than likely they are sick and/or tired of the attention they get from men. So stop flattering them and pay them. Meet them half way and you might be surprised what you get in return. If nothing else you know you'll be doing the right thing.

Hey Girls, thank you for putting up with all us rude, pushy, smelly, sweaty, demanding photographers. (like I really know what I'm doing, its more luck and technology than skill) You are all buckets full of awesomeness and I owe whatever success I can ever achieve as a photographer to you. Luv ya'll.

And if you're wondering why I wrote this it's because I heard something this weekend that made me sick. Help me right this.

By the way, what I heard had nothing to do with the Homegrown Hotties events which are awesome. This is directed more at the industry in general.

I wanted to capture an experience, not just a picture. This is what my minds eye sees through the viewfinder.

I call this "The spring clean for the May Queen." Makes for good wallpaper.

Very cool!  Was there an automated way to do that, or did you have to layer each of the images by hand?

Hope to make one of your events Michael..esp given the close proximity to Chino.

OMFG. I just imagined a project with 90  layers! uhuh. I use FotoFusion. It's a great piece of software.

Here are some use case samples: (18 )

The ravishing Miss Emily   (check out her blog. It rocks! I wish more llamas blogged. She tells all I want to know but forgot or don't know to ask.)

While I'm here. Check out Torrid's event. If you've ever worked with Cheri or her studio, Wonderland Studios in Anaheim, then you know that the llamas will be totally decked out. Won't want to miss it if you have the bandwidth. Not trying to hijack this thread Mike. Torrid is one of the many standout llamas that make Homegrown Hotties among the best events on Mayhem. Plus she'll be attending the March 2 Hotties event. (that's a reverse plug)
