I saw the previous thread about "things to never say to a photographer" and thought it would be fun and interesting to see both sides. smile

That is way too complicated.  There are far more direct approaches.  big_smile

I say this almost in every shoot when shooting women.
But, I dont add the fatty part!

I said this once (or something similar).

There is no rescue from that situation that I know of.

I actually do say this when I'm shooting thin models.  It's a pretty good way to lighten the mood.  I get reactions from surprise to laughing.  And even very thin models can look paunchy if they aren't aware of what their body is doing.

I haven't been punched yet.

Yet.

lucky enough to have worked with many very good sports and humored individuals. big_smile

I've been asked to alter my base-powder close to 18 times on a trade shoot - though the beauty images did turn out pretty good.  I almost thought about quiting once as there was also no air condition.

"So how are things going in the amateur modeling world?"

I got asked this by one particular photographer often, who always made the point to tell me he was a "professional" and I was "amateur", even when he was paying me for his portfolio development and I was modeling professionally full-time.

"I usually work with really gorgeous models... I mean, really, REALLY gorgeous, beautiful, tall women...  I mean, have you seen Taylor?? Like, W-O-W, now that's what I call a model.... so yeah, um, let's get back to our shoot..."

big_smile big_smile big_smile smile

Often these things are said off-the-cuff...  total ignorance to the fact their comments are insulting... but I find it somewhat humourous and forgiving...  I know they're not really intending to be unkind, they're just not thinking!

I just spent the last of my money on this new lens. This is going to have to be TFP.

Can you arch your back more?  more?  more?  This shot's not going to work unless you can get that pained look off your face.

How are your hand-stands?

Let's see if you can balance on top of...

you probably shouldn't say this exactly; but as someone who works with actors everyday there is nothing more frustrating then casting someone based off their headshot and it is far off from the real thing.
