Two wrongs certainly dont make a right...... If LAPD is still guilty of the institutional criminal behavior he claims they are guilty of, there are MANY ways to ultimately bring those crimes to light. I am sure they dont happen fast enough, and I wish they didnt need to happen at all, but corruption is part(sadly) of being human....power nearly always tempts those with it......it takes EXCEPTIONAL folks to have a lot of power, and yet not abuse it.

Again, I don't condone it AT ALL.  As you say, two wrongs don't make a right.  And nobody has a right to just go out and kill another person for their grievances, even in revenge.  But a lack of justice or any way to address legitimate grievances will come out sideways sooner or later.

What's so troubling to me about these allegations is that if a national event like the Rodney King Riots didn't make real, substantive change within an organization like the LAPD...what the fuck will?  If true, the LAPD is a racist organization that's truly out of control and answerable to no one.

That's a serious and https://assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/scary.pngproblem.

Several major police departments are operating under the US Justice Dept supervision right now. Near me, Oakland PD is still trying to come into compliance after YEARS of DOJ supervision. It is a sad comment on our society.

No one in their right mind would deny something more need to be done.

No one in their right mind thinks this is the way to solve the problem.

Well, it is interesting that he went to great lengths to point out that his enemy was the LAPD and not the people. In ancity like LA, that was sure to get some people's attention. I remember in a movie a police officer is chasing a suspect through the projects and as the suspect runs past a bunch of guys standing around, the minute the other guys see the cop they start throwing things at him. It's a movie and was done as a part of the movie's humor but it was believable in a way.

As an LAPD cop he probably came in contact with a number of cop haters who've wanted to shoot a cop. He's now a hero to them. I think they'd hide him for sure. And probably provide him with better arms than the cops have.

Looks like he could be in Big Bear.

UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed a truck found burning in the San Bernardino Mountains belongs to Christopher Dorner.

A local law enforcement source said the truck, found near Big Bear Lake, is the one police across California have been searching for.

Authorities believe Dorner is somewhere in the mountains nearby.

Guests at a Big Bear ski resort were told to stay in their rooms for time being.

A local website in Big Bear reported a strike team was in place and a command post was being set up.

I wonder, however, if this guy might not have had someone drive his truck up there. I mean, maybe he is going to go guerrilla-style in the mountains but on the other hand maybe he's in Watts waiting for them to look elsewhere before he does something else.

Had that thought myself.  Of course whoever provided the diversion will be caught by a very unhappy LAPD.  Not sure you could get someone to throw themselves on the sacrificial alter like that.

Given the level of premeditation I wouldn't be surprised if he had a spot out there and booby traps. I hope I'm wrong and he just panicked and they get him soon.

What would be the crime though? “Driving the Vehicle of a Suspect of a Manhunt Outside of the Manhunt Area”?

Like, I'm not trying to ridicule the idea you've put forth only commenting on how precarious that would be for the LAPD. I mean, of course it would seem to be aiding a criminal but what if its some car theif who hates cops? What if it was a teen? How, then, do they prove that it isn't some kids trying to play real-life Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

Somehow I thought I saw on the news that he left that vehicle at a specific place and evaded police on foot (I was watching someplace that was loud and the captioning was on so some details are muddled to me).

Ha!

You have to wonder though: presumably the truck was found abandoned and if they didn't get eyewitness reports of him leaving the vehicle (I mean, they could have and they just haven't told the public that) then they're doing the whole manhunt thing with the distinct possibility that he's not anywhere in the vicinity. He would have to know that they'd do that because he was a cop and he's had time to think this entire thing through.

Dorner also left a farewell to his favorite female stars, in a post:

"Jennifer Beals, Serena Williams, Grae Drake, Lisa Nicole-Carson, Diana Taurasi, N’bushe Wright, Brenda Villa, Kate Winslet, Ashley Graham, Erika Christensen, Gabrielle Union, Isabella Soprano, Zain Verjee, Tamron Hall, Gina Carano, America Ferrara, Giana Michaels, Nene, Natalie Portman, Queen Latifah, Michelle Rodriguez, Anjelah Johnson, Kelly Clarkson, Nora Jones, Laura Prepon, Margaret Cho, and Rutina Wesley, you are THE MOST beautiful women on this planet, period. Never settle, professionally or personally."

TMZ reported that Dorner's goodbye messages also include a few people he apparently doesn't like, including Cardinal Mahony and the Westboro Baptist Church.

In his message to Mahoney, Dorner wrote:

"Cardinal Mahoney, you are in essence a predator yourself as you enabled your subordinates to molest multiple children in the church over many decades. May you die a long and slow painful death."

The post to the church read:

"Westboro Baptist Church, may you all burn slowly in a fire, not from smoke inhalation, but from the flames and only the flames."

so....it seems like he left some notes to various celebs....

http://www.tmz.com/

Christoph Waltz:

Christopher Walz, you impressed me in Inglorious Basterds. After viewing Django Unchained, I was sold. I have come to the conclusion that you are well on your way to becoming one of the greats if not already and show glimpses of Daniel Day Lewis and Morgan Freeman-esque type qualities of greatness. Trust me when I say that you will be one of the greatest ever.

Jennifer Beals, Serena Williams, Grae Drake, Lisa Nicole-Carson, Diana Taurasi, N’bushe Wright, Brenda Villa, Kate Winslet, Ashley Graham, Erika Christensen, Gabrielle Union, Isabella Soprano, Zain Verjee, Tamron Hall, Gina Carano, America Ferrara, Giana Michaels, Nene, Natalie Portman, Queen Latifah, Michelle Rodriguez, Anjelah Johnson, Kelly Clarkson, Nora Jones, Laura Prepon, Margaret Cho, and Rutina Wesley, you are THE MOST beautiful women on this planet, period. Well I have to say I mostly agree with his taste in women and his assessment of Christoph Walz.

what makes them think that he's still in the area? they found the truck already burned out, this means he had plenty of time to move to another location  in different transportation.    he must be tired with no sleep, and provably not enough food,  he will wait for the darkness to make another move, or attack. he is Right now in a guerrilla mode, and will no surrender until he has accomplish his mission "in his mind"

If he stay in big Bear tonight he's gonna have a hell of a night, with the Low  temperatures  in the early hours of the day.

That's my hometown. The car was reported very early this morning, around 8, and was burned then. Highway 38 is closed due to the bus crash two days ago, and there are still about 4 ways down off that mountain, not all of the easy to get down, or around, and highly covered in forest. I hope he leaves Big Bear if he isn't already gone. I don't know any reason to think or not to thing he is there still, but I do know from 18 years of living there, that there are plenty of places to hide out not far from people, that most don't even know exist. Even with low temperatures, with the correct gear (which he probably has) wouldn't be even that bad.

wow coming from people whom know the area is pretty https://assets.modelmayhem.com/images/smilies/scary.pngto know there's places to hide  that could be of   great danger for police officers not familiar with the area.

By the way confirm the burned out Pick up truck  found belongs to  Dorner this mean he is no longer moving  in the same vehicle.   This is crazy.

Wow, this is the first I heard of this story. Haven't been watching the news much lately.
This explains why road condition signs on the 101 up here in Santa Barbara had the make and license number of a grey Nissan Titan, was wondering what that was all about because that's all it said.
