Just finished scanning for models in another city. Here are quotes: "I'm a full time mother of 3 and have very limited time...." "I demand a deposit as a photographer once stood me up." "I stopped modeling last year...." (on line in the last 2 weeks) "I don't read messages here." "If my escort doesn't approve of you I won't work with you." "Contact me by e-mail." (No address or facebook or nuffin')

I feel sorry for anyone with that many children.

Not everyone will approve of who you work with, you shouldn't let an llama herder determine your career. And why make an MM account if you don't model anymore or read messages on it!

Each of the quotes are from different models profiles. Not all the same profile. OP is cherry picking the most negative lines he can from his searches.

People aren't allowed to request deposits? (Tons of pros do). People who retired aren't allowed on here? A lot of forum frequenters will guffaw at that. I have a second profile on here that I never use. I direct people to my main page and say on my other profile, "I don't check messages here." So what? This is most likely to keep pervy old GWCs away. I bet it works. PM them and ask for their email. Not that hard.

Only about 3%-5% of the women that lists themselves as models actually are willing to model.

Well, better they have that stuff on their profile right there rather than finding out about those limitations later on when it might be too late. Edit: Though I do have to agree with that last one being pretty unhelpful. I think this might be the case when people don't realize their email isn't automatically show on profiles because of scams. Or that they forgot leave their link for their Facebook or whatever.

Did that and nothing but crickets chipping in the background... system reports message read... LOL

I think any time you are looking through profiles you are going to have to pick and choose and of course you will find inactive profiles or profiles for those of us who are not modeling as much as we used to/you might wish we did. I read profiles all the time that make me think "Uh, I should probably avoid that person" or "We probably would not work well together" or "That photographer seems like they might be really demanding." I try not to waste too much energy on it and usually spend my time on whatever I think is productive like chatting with people I do want to shoot with, providing advice and insight on the forums, and learning more about modeling and posing and a little about photography too.

My favorites from here: 1. "I am not interested in perpetuating the objectification of women." 2. "Currently I am very PREGGO so I will be needing Maternity shoots. Some including the handsome man pictured in my portfolio. I will also be needing NEWBORN and Family shoots soon! Let me know if you're a photographer interested in either! These will be TF." Continue to the casting call: I am looking for a TFCD photographer to do a pregnancy shoot of me (currently almost 8 months along) and my man (seen in my portfolio) outside preferably. These will help your portfolio as well and show diversity.

(No address or facebook or nuffin') I am a budding novelist, so I am definitely qualified to do this for you (free!) In the interest of saving you time, I have written replies for these comments, should a model dare put them in a reply to any PM you send them... "I'm a full time mother of 3 and have very limited time...." Better not shoot with me then. I'm so sexy, you'll soon be a mother of four! "I demand a deposit as a photographer once stood me up." Well, I guess the answer to the first question wasn't really necessary. You're talking about a sperm deposit, right? "I stopped modeling last year...." (on line in the last 2 weeks) Obviously, you only use this site 'cause you're a hooker... What are your rates? Or can we do a tf*? "I don't read messages here." Neither do I. No time. Too busy ranting in the fora. "If my escort doesn't approve of you I won't work with you." Oh, he'll approve... or I'll kick the shit out of both of you. Now, when are you two available for a session? "Contact me by e-mail." (No address or facebook or nuffin') Wow, we're so simpatico! I don't use that stupid Facebook either. Do you have a MySpace? You're welcome. EDIT: If you like, I can go through some profiles and come up with seven GOOD things in models' profiles; trumping your six negatives. LAWYERED!

You will learn there are more flakes than committed pros in this game. And that includes the photographers. I want you to know that I am neither a flake nor a pro. However I am a flaky pro...or am I a professional flake? Hmmmmm..... Seriously...I travel and attempt to find models to shoot with at many locations. I hear a lot of the same things. But when I start talking to models they hear just as many "excuses and oddities" as photographers hear. I just move on and keep looking for models who are motivated to shoot.

KonstantKarma wrote: I can't find the "no objectification of women" profile and I looked for it specifically for this post... Maybe she removed it. That one's always confused me as I view photographs as a set of visual symbols that have been removed from an object, or de-objectified.

As others have said, they are weeding themselves out. Close the tab and move on to the next until you get to someone who actually wants to work. One thing I say, that I feel that is not put on enough model profiles: "Lens cap"

There are literally thousands of ways to portray women without objectifying them. Is that really SO ridiculous to consider? 2. So she wants pregnancy shots? Lots of photographers on here have maternity projects and want pregnancy models. In my opinion y'all aren't finding very good examples. The ones I think are ridiculous are: -Has 4 cell phone shots in portfolio -Has never had a shoot before -Doesn't shoot nude/implied/lingerie -5'1" -130 lbs -Otherwise unremarkable face/body -Has an escort that they insist on "for personal safety" -Profile's typed all in caps -Demands rates Heidi Klum would blush at -Says to text them for more info -It's all "in dis tipe speach" ^^All the above in one profile. To make a blanket statement, this thread currently seems like a giant mechanism to complain that every profile viewed isn't one that fits each person's tailored definition of what they want. It's like looking at profile of a model with tattoos and complaining that she lists her tattoos on her profile. Move on to the next one. I can promise you, if you can't cope with the "not objectifying women" bullet point, that model doesn't want to shoot with YOU either.

My favorite profiles are the ones in first person plural ("we do this" "our style is this") but are actually one person. Never got the concept behind that.
