Joomla says I can't connect to the database and won't bring the site up.

Think I'll watch & see how this actually  works.
Us photogs have cried for some kind of model accountability forever. As do model's I expect.
Yet I admittedly fear that ballot box stuffing and other forms of corruption are a hazard when-if folks treat it like a popularity contest to be won at any cost.
Long as ratings aren't anonymous, the risks of abuse oughta be reduced.

Sounds like a monumental task to put this together, online. I'd say user feedback oughta keep things reasonably honest.
The US electoral process is such a joke-circus-and corrupt,  that voting systems are just bound to scare me a bit.    I really do hope this works as intended.

During the beta, I'm working on the live site, deliberately. This will happen on occasion. After January, when the beta-two features are in place, development will happen on a staging server and such incidents will, I hope, be few and far-between.

That's the thing - it can only work if people use it.

Not quite true. There are new features in the final stages of testing that will work quite well on an individual basis.

But the recommendation/reputation part, yes, it will only work if people use it. That's the real experiment, isn't it? wink

As we exit the final beta phases within the next 30-45 days, we'll see how it goes.

And when the next very large feature is rolled-out in the next few days (seriously!), we'll see how well that does, too.

sad

My badge is just a little blue question mark in a big space.

Should I remove it?

EDIT: Nevermind - it's back.

It still doesn't have the cool little circles with letters in 'em, though.
