ShootNotes
Some of you will recall discussions about reputation systems. The open beta of ShootNotes.com is starting. Account activations will be online after the weekend, but if anyone wants to get an account and get your badge up now, please feel free. Any problems, please drop me a private email. Bug reports and/or suggestions are more than welcome while I finalize the activation system and perform final tests on the editors. I'm going to presume that everything is self-explanatory. Please let me know if it's not, so I can be more verbose in the instructions. A reputation system is the core of ShootNotes, but I've actually started working on a ton of new features that have been requested. It's free. I'll probably put Google ads on there at some point to make it help pay for itself, but not now. http://www.ShootNotes.com Questions? Nov 17 07 01:38 am Link I signed up! Today I go back and hit "activate account" I enter my MM number and "activate" Nothing has changed. Did I miss a step in the FAQ? Nov 17 07 12:53 pm Link Caspers Creations wrote: No, what you missed was when, after hitting "activate," it told you that the activation code has been stored in the database, and actual account activations will happen after the weekend. Nov 17 07 01:01 pm Link That's the fun of a beta - opening it when it's 90% done to flush out procedural bugs while finishing the last few steps! Nov 17 07 01:03 pm Link Okay, signed up, and badge is up. Nov 17 07 01:05 pm Link King of the Letter L wrote: NO Problem. Nov 17 07 01:12 pm Link OK, I have just registered and received my email, and activated my account. so ... where in my email -is- my nice image to paste into my MM profile, please? (help?) Nov 17 07 01:20 pm Link I signed up, very nice look. Nov 17 07 01:22 pm Link Harry Young wrote: Click on the "Main and Display Badges" menu item once you're logged-in. Nov 17 07 01:30 pm Link logged in.. set up account and pasted code on my profile here.. all looking great.. That was a bang up smashing great Idea. If you need any help.. please feel free to let me know. Andrew Nov 17 07 02:11 pm Link Signed up, badge is up, but where I am there are only two models I have worked with recently who are also on MM. This might take a while. Nov 17 07 02:15 pm Link Seriously Superficial wrote: That's the lovely thing about networks. If they have a high reputation, that will look good on you. I'm still refining the algorithm, but there you go. Nov 17 07 02:34 pm Link King of the Letter L wrote: to "Game" the system??? ok.. in english please... Nov 17 07 06:20 pm Link I need to remember to e-mail you about a parameter to add, and I have about 25 MM members I need to add to my "worked with" database, then encourage all of them to sign up Nov 17 07 09:48 pm Link Yay! I just have to say- thanks. This is a good idea, and I hope people pick up on it. I think this could be a really great tool. Nov 17 07 09:50 pm Link SLE Photography wrote: Do it soon (the email). I just got validation working properly, and so all I need to do now is clean up the "worked with" and "vouch for" data entry pages and phase one is done. Nov 18 07 12:05 am Link no more info? My image on my profile says I havent "activated" my account... hmmmm Nov 19 07 10:39 am Link AndrewG wrote: I'm looking at tonight to allow full activation, Tuesday at the latest. Signups uncovered a number of bugs (as expected) that are all being resolved now before the next step. Nov 19 07 10:40 am Link King of the Letter L wrote: cool beans.. thanks for the reply.. Nov 19 07 11:10 am Link It's looking good. I really gotta enter people LOL Nov 19 07 12:03 pm Link Well, I'm ready to move to the next phase of testing, but as of earlier today, Tyler has turned off non-member viewing of profiles, so I'm blocked. If non-members can't see profiles, ShootNotes can't validate that anyone is who they say they are. So I'm ready to go, but on hold until he turns it back on. Nov 19 07 06:09 pm Link I signed up, but haven't put anything on my page yet. One question: Would there be any way (maybe at a later date, after the basics are done) to get a smaller version of the badge? Particularly something shorter height-wise? I feel like it's just so big... and there are a lot of people who complain about mass amounts of images in profiles... yea. Just a suggestion Other than that, this will be cool And I like the way it looks so far Nice job :holds up a glass: Cheers to you, Mr. King! Edit: Ok, actually, I went to activate (that wasn't an option when I signed up originally), entered my MM#, and it's saying "Sorry, Model or Photographer Only". I are Model. Nov 19 07 06:32 pm Link I registered, and will activate shortly. Nov 19 07 06:43 pm Link I've validated two accounts, so I can test the model/photographer/fake out attempts. Waiting for the next step - for the activation to work. Nov 19 07 06:47 pm Link King of the Letter L wrote: You could always set shoot notes up with an account then tunnel through... Nov 19 07 06:48 pm Link Creativity Farm wrote: I could. But that would mean three round trips to MM and that's not being a nice citizen. The site is overloaded as it is, so my badge checks were being done using a very lightweight lookup. Nov 19 07 07:03 pm Link King of the Letter L wrote: bummer.. Nov 19 07 07:04 pm Link |
