Ah, who do you think would become the world's greatest villian? Its the kid that got picked on & shoved into a locker at school & then goes apeshit shooting everyone.

Except he was a race-hovercar superstar and a Jedi apprentice as a kid.
Besides, even the Star Wars kid himself became a successful lawyer in the end and didn't Kim Jong Il anyone.

What a wonderful thread!! Seriously!

Just to let you know....before any of these "johnny come latelys"...there was FLASH GORDON!!!

Every week I would patiently wait in front of a black and white 12" television (we never called them TVs) I would watch a blond haired Johnny (Flash) Wisemueller fend off the evil and merciless Ming!!!

With rayguns that shot out sparkles and spaceship suspended by piano wire he would single handedly save our ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!

Bahhhh....heros.......Flash was Theeee Hero!!!

Spaceballs. Galaxy Quest. Top them. tongue

But between Trek and Wars I'd say tie between original Wars and Trek TNG. I think Voyager was interesting in its deviation from the normal Trek. It gave them leeway to open things up some.

Original Trek and latter Wars I didn't care much for. In fact I still haven't bothered watching the last one of the Wars saga.

as much as I love Kevin Smith, he totally wants George Lucas' nuts in or around his mouth.  Too bad he didn't acknowledge Star Wars wouldn't exist without LOTR.

I had started this thread last week , somewhat inspired by a local star trek convention that was being held here in my city ... I walked by the hotel in which they were holding said convention and sure enuf spotted numbers of Trekkies milling about ...Reportedly Shatner and Nimoy were inside , giving presentations and posing for photos .....

Old Battlestar Galactica, and whatever happened to Space 1999... used to watch them both like a religion when I was about 6

Yes!!! Space 1999 was da bomb! I loved that show and even ordered the official Space 1999 binder with ship and moonbase schematics (also weapons etc).

Also, as someone mentioned above, UFO! Man, the ladies on that show... Grrrrrr!

I also enjoyed The Starlost. Great show!

Poser shows... Planet of the Apes and Logans Run. Awful... Gaaak!

As for Star Trek, I only like the original and Voyager. Picard looks like he has a stick up his ass.

I love it when people make an apples and oranges comparison to make their biased point (the leading main character of a series vs. a hated cartoon character that was only featured in a newer movie, not the acclaimed original trilogy).

I can do it, too:

vs.

No contest.

And why are people talking about Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, or LOTR when the thread is Star Trek v. Star Wars? Reading comprehension, or just craving the attention of being different?

There seems to be a disturbance in the force.

That Darth Maul fag was only in the movie for five minutes, before he got his ass kicked.  Oh, I'm sorry...got his ass KILLED.

"Trouble With Tribbles" is one of the best loved Star Trek first edition episodes loved round the world by all who see it.

Extremely poor example.

Well, the Tribbles would certainly beat Darth Maul - the guy was split in two by a mere apprentice after all, while Tribble procreation is unstoppable unless you poison them.

Plus, they're cute.

As cool as Star Trek was for its time whats even more cool are the real life gadgets that they imagined for the show that are a reality today and could be had by just anyone.

I don't think one gadget from Star Wars is a reality today, I could be wrong though.
Now, if they produce the Light Saber then thats another story... tongue
