Well if the building said "Tilted Kilt" then you were at the right place... for some reason, I kept looking for a sign saying "Twisted Kilt".. and couldnt find it... but I didnt get lost.. I found the right place.. just turned into the wrong driveway and passed Lowes Hardware before realizing I was across the street and down the block..

Aaron... go on a Friday evening.. then you will know how it would sound, look and smell when we are there... oh wait.. it wouldnt smell as wonderful without all our female beautys there.

I may have a solution to the meeting room problem.  I shoot at Art Stage Sound in central Phoenix.  It's a few blocks from the I-10/N. 7th Street exit.  It has a large gallery room with exhibits and a small stage, and next to it a large studio room (800sq ft as I recall).  It's big enough to fit eveyone and more, but it's also kinda down-home cozy.  There's no competition with a noisy bar or restaurant.  Also no smoking but the door is never more than a few steps away.

Dean ,the proprietor, and I have talked about hosting an open house or photog/model/mua gathering there.  He might be up for hosting a meet & greet.  It's not licensed for hard alcohol, but it's probably cool to byob beer and wine, and possibly if we hired a caterer they would have the license for the hard booze.  Or leave your little brown bag in the car.

It's a cool place to shoot, too, if anyone needs to rent cheap studio time.

If folks like the idea I'll volunteer to set it up (and convince Dean that it's the right thing to do!).

Okay, and now resuming our previously scheduled forum topic:

I agree that drink and beverage should be present, although I'd sure like to get some "happy hour" prices. So maybe we can start at 6pm...

A "hard' liqour carterer is hard to get.. I've been looking for one for an event, beer and wine is easier... the insurance and licensing is a huge pain to get.

I like the location, off the I-10 is good for me....

Just a few comments.

Carlos,

Paul has a problem using spelling or computers while he is drinking. He misspells word, uses words that dont exist, etc.. It stems from a problem he had while incarcerated in the state pen. Or was that when he was incinerated in the state pen. or was that the time he was inebriated at the state pen? Oh well, I forget, but you gotta go to the post office and see his images.. they have a gallery there and his images are very prominent.

Hey Paul.. I told you I thought you should step away from that computer...

It would be great to see you, Jim.  It's been too long.

Folks, we've been jammed into bars for every M&G.  How about trying something a little different where we don't have to shout to each other or squeeze through tight knots of people to get to the portfolio table?  Hell, we might even get to network!
If it turns out to be awful, your worst meet & greet nightmare, then we don't have to do it again.

Once we have a decent group there we could order some Pizza... or everyone could just stop somewhere and bring their own food/drink...
