...to make the shoot a complete success.

Offshoot of a negative thread running in parallel.

My entry.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, it was not soft and lush, but crunched, dried, scratchy, itchy moss.

I'll play:

Poison Ivy and Sumac everywhere.

So many of the Models that I have worked with, have been willing to really put forth the willingness to endure odd places for a shot.

Eva Natal (mm #2518237) only told me after this shoot

... that she had water going up through her nose.  She has an impeccable work ethic and I would not hesitate to recommend her or work with her again.

The model climbed up into the waterfall. I was only expecting her to pose in front of it. In spite of it being a hot August day, the water was very cold. She slipped once and cut her chin, but she continued on until she exhausted her poses.

A wonderful friend and model whose name is Mimi (who doesn't have a profile on MM at this time) went to the beach with me and shot topless on a freezing cold day with a low fog around us!  She wore a bikini bottom only!  Such a great sport!  And believe it or not, she WANTED to do this shoot!

I've worked with some great models who go the extra mile to get the shot.

We did not do this in one take - more like 5 or 6 times to get the look we wanted:

You can learn more from a good experienced model who's willing to talk to you about stuff then you ever will from books!

So I'd like to ship in with a great big thanks to all those models who are willing to give honest real time feedback during a shoot.

Oh, Mellisa is a real deal ... she drove from LA to SF in the morning that rainy day and shoot with me for 5-6 hrs in the freezing water ... by the time we finished, she can even walk & feel her toes ... but she'll do it again for a great shots ...
Now, that's something ...

This girl!

Jump 1: bad timing - crap photographer
Jump 2-5: Legs not quite right
Jump 6-8: Hair not right - flick your head back as you jump
Jump 9-13: face and eyes in wrong direction
Jump 14-17: Everythings wrong - we've gone to pieces

Short break

Jump 18-21: Ooh, nearly - just one more try
Jump 22-25: the coat isn't 'working'.
Jump 26: THAT'S THE SHOT!  smile

Another, cold waterfall shot:

Or they'll lie naked on all sorts of broken crap:

And I'm amazed by all the models who shoot with me and hike up steep gorges and walk through water for shots!

Any of the llamas that I've worked with over onger times have amazed me with their commitment.

This one:  https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 4#27403454 18

Had llamaed and wanted to try nude work. At first she was uncomfortable and unsure of what to do but the list of what she would try included the pictured thorns, insane yoga poses and working with a wolf/dog hybrid (some pretty good scatches and welts from that).

Absolutely amazing.

Dementia laid on this cross [tied to it with rough hemp rope] in a boiling hot garage for over 1.5 hrs. I was shooting overhead. she barely moved and never complained once. afterwards we went to my studio and she was bound hand and foot for BDSM shots, hog tied, gagged with a rope gag and a gag ball. she stayed in the gear for a long time, no complaints. she is a trouper.

I strongly suspect that the really good ones, who will go the extra mile actually out number the others.

But complaining about the flakes is so much fun.
