Do we need to wade or swim to locations?

No wading or swimming ashore... BUT... the little landing boats in Cabo do dump you off on the beach.  You may get your shoes or sandals wet... but if you time your jump right, it's easy to jump off the front of the boat and land directly on the dry sand.  Done it a few years now... I got the system down... borat

In Puerto Vallarta, we get there by vehicle (all pile into probably 2 rental vans).  Limited storage space.

In Cabo (depending on the available beach conditions), we "boat taxi" over to the beach and the small boats get to about 15-20 ft from the shore, where we jump into the water and walk up to the beach (like charging the beaches of Normandy).   Water could be up to knee high.  So yes, you'll probably be wading thru water in Cabo!!!  Pack & Carry accordingly.

Also a side note when raiding the beaches (and getting back onto the little boats while standing in the water), bring a few dollars to tip because there tend to be "helpful" amigo's trying to help you get off & aboard.

Sorry Ted, I had you use your picture for illustration.

Hahaha, exactly like charging the beaches of Normandy so many years ago, but without the German MG42 machine guns and 88mm greeting us.

We will be meeting onboard the ship at 7pm on DECK 9... Also make sure you save my cell phone number so that you may contact me at anytime during the boarding process.  My cell is (Gary / 909-919-3925).  Save me in your cell phone book and feel free to text me anytime.  My booking number is 2Q2JS7 and my roomies in Room #8150 (Deck 8 Panorama Deck) are ANGELINA, KATHERINE AND EDWARD.

Go ahead and list your room number and roomies information now if you have it.  Best time to checkin Sunday is between 11:30 and 12:30.  It takes about 3 hours to checkin, and the ship sets sail at 4:30pm.  Your ship destination is 'Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach' (adjacent to the Queen Mary Terminal).  Seeya Sunday at the ship... borat

hahaha... No, no...   different guy(s).   I was running Follow-Up, making sure everyone got off the beach and out onto the boat (leaving the beach).  But then there are a couple 'locals' that just stand in the water helping the tourists (US in this case), walk thru the water to the boats, helping them carry their bags and help them up into the boat (from out of the water).  So they got a few bucks from me...  :-)

Room 6152 Empress Deck, Model Lisa. Model Chloe staying in another room.

I see our ship is returning from a two week Hawaiian voyage.

I was on the little beach boat in '12. I don't remember walking through water. Too many other memories from that trip. I'll zip lock bad the camera and bag my other backpack gear in big trash bag.

Gary what did they let us enter the cabins? 4 pm?

Hey Bob... yeah didn't walk thru water here either... jumped off the front of the boat right onto the sand.  And HEY... you can actually go to your cabin right after boarding the ship... anytime after 3 is OK... wink

Yeah we gotta start dressin down like the rest of the Cabo boys... no more Hawaiian shirts and flashy tourist clothes.  Those 'beach amigos' spot us from 2 miles away and come running... roll... lol

My bright green Polo Ralph Lauren shirt might've given them an idea or two that we could afford a few bucks.  I'll be wearing my cheapest T-shirt this time.

In any case, let's not have another $500 lunch. lol

Well hey now guys and girls... like I said in the original post... photographers really aren't 'required' to cover additional expenses that models incur... but maybe a drink here and there and an in town souvenior would be cool.

Cause I mean 'after all'... this is a free trip for all models with alittle additional cash tossed in their purses on (the all day one on one shoot) 'PayDay Friday'.  Details on that in the original post... wink

I've asked the models I'm sponsoring to check in online to save some time on Sunday.

I've already checked in online.  It says you can print boarding pass online too.  Not sure how to do that.....

I will be providing the 4 groupshoot itinerary on Sunday, Nov 2nd at the 7pm 'Welcoming Buffet Dinner'.

The Friday 1 on 1 shoots are scheduled as follows... shoots are 1 hour long with 40 minutes of actual shooting time (10 minute walk to and 10 minute walk from/this boat is BIG).  First 1 on 1 will start at 10am.  There will be a 90 minute lunch break from 12:30 to 2pm.  The last 1 on 1 will start at 6:30 and end at 7:30, with formal dinner for everyone starting at 8:15.  I will be passing out the 1 on 1 shoot schedules to EVERYONE so that all will have a copy, understanding their time slots and who they will be working with thru-out the day.  Participating in the 'Friday One on One Shoots' is not a requirement for photographers or models, but participating in the 4 scheduled groupshoots is... wink

If your formal dining time has been set to an earlier time, we will get that changed at guest services, as EVERYONE in this group will have late dining starting at 8:15.  We will all be sitting together at two close proximity tables at every evening's formal dinner... wink

Folks, I've been absent from the forum for some time due to work travel but I’m so ready for a break. 2 days to go!!  I am looking forward to meeting everyone. For those of you I don’t know yet, look for a FR from me, if I can find you on this forum. Otherwise, feel free to send me one. My cell number is 949.433.2247.

Gwen and I are in 8160. James and Gary, the three of us are right below the pool deck. I had a similar cabin once before and got some unsolicited early morning wake up calls from people shuffling the deck chairs right above. Maybe it’s a good thing, will wake me up for some sunrise pics. Probably not. I’m sure I’ll sleep through it.

Unfortunately for me, I like a certain room style and there are Literally on 2 of those room Per Level...   (the rear-corner rooms).  So it made it hard to match up with all the other folks...

Well... for Day 1 on the ship, if you see us in the crowd, be sure to wave us down!!!!! Here was a snippet from the first day of shooting last year (to recognize us).   Jessica is on the right side in the white dress and I sure hope you can figure out where i am...  :-)

You would be surprised at how many models said they would go, then dropped out without letting me know. That chewed up a lot of time as I thought I had a confirmed model, a few times. I finally tightened up my speed of communication needed in order to find someone who would actually be going. I almost brought another model as well. But then her speed of communication was too slow and the ship sold out.

I will be in room 6230
