But across North America, it is illegal to photograph a model who is under the age of 18, nude.

I know there are a good portion of countries that have no laws against child pornography, however, the models I've seen with that on their profiles, are from north america.

Regardless of whether it is artistic or not, underage nudes are called 'child pornography'

Oh boy. This topic again. If you do a forum search you will find a few threads on this. While I will say it is not worth the potential hassle and trouble - it is only illegal in subjective circumstances that involve whether the person with authority finds the shots sexually suggestive or not.  See Jock Sturges, Sally Mann, every parent who has taken a shot of their child taking a bath, etc. 

Being that there is no law banning this - if you can actually find one, many photographers would love to see it - it is actually is informative that even the underage models put their limits.

I'm fairly sure the laws have changed quite a bit since then.
